Operationally manage design delivery and coordination of core projects or programmes work to ensure delivery of Consultants Scope of Services; Provide an overview of the design process, how the design is developed through design stages, and the project control systems for reporting project or programme to the Sr. project or programme manager; Responsible for monitoring and controlling the consultants scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls; Perform a high-level review for design submissions and ensure the design is developed to the required quality; Ensure the design is taking into consideration the surrounding site-wide constraints, compliant with master plan regulations, coordinated and integrated with Public Realm and Landscape, and aligned with infrastructure requirements, utility tie-in points locations, and connection capacities; Certify associated due payment and collaborate with commercial team in controlling the project commercial performance; Use tools such as Design Management Tracker to track the progress of design development and resolution of design issues within KPI; Respond to technical RFIs ensuring providing the right information in a timely manner; require deep technical knowledge and broad business experience.
Lead design / construction team; develop project plans and schedules; use tools to monitor and control projects progress, work hours, budgets and expenditures; assure quality of work performed; ensure clients’ needs and project goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner; effectively communicate information to the project team; study and develop architectural works and details; perform necessary coordination with other engineering disciplines; check compliance of the design with local and international codes (IBC, NFPA, ADA…etc.); implement sustainable design principles; review submittals and make sure they comply with the project requirements and deliverables; make sure the design intent is maintained throughout different project stages; assist in drafting and issuing technical RFPs.
Complete LEED documentation and certification process during the startup and operation of L’Oréal new plant in Cairo until obtaining the LEED certificate; manage the environmental projects, perform sustainability facility management and best practices for the plant startup and operation phase; make sure that saving targets are achieved as planned; report key performance indicators (KPI) and taking corrective actions for substandard performance; waste management.
Integrate and apply sustainable strategies and principles in design, supervise construction activities and make sure that all green features and systems are constructed as designed, review drawings and materials submittals and make sure they comply with project deliverables and technical specifications, guide the contractor to the best practices of green construction and provide necessary training to the contractor key staff, set with the client project priorities, objectives, and requirements, prepare projects action plans/work progress reports, streamline the application and certification process for LEED registered projects, train and support newly assigned team.
Generate design concepts and form alternatives applying clients’ requirements, develop the design focusing on architectural details and finding solutions for technical issues, check all finishing works, verify that works of other disciplines are properly coordinated and in conformance with the project drawings, lead the design teams of sustainable projects, apply the sustainable design strategies and systems to the design, do the proper coordination with all project parties using the integrated design process; streamline the application and certification process for LEED registered projects.
Determine requirements of projects; provide support to architects and management staff; use computer tools to draft works and digitize sketches of architects; analyze space utilization effectiveness and changing demands for space needs; assist in the preparation of design development drawings and recommend actions to meet new requirements.
Handle workshops of design and construction drawings courses and follow up on the study progress of the students and make sure they understand the course materials well and do its exercises correctly.
