I have held a wide scope of responsibilities in the Finance and Administration Department during my 29 years and a member of the Acquisition Committee, which is responsible of monitoring and approving films, programs and series before broadcasting on Dubai Television for a period of eight years.

My main duties are the following:

• Proper maintaining of Accounting books, General ledger, Accounts payable, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, General Expenses, Sales and Distribution Expenses.

• Reconciling of bank accounts, reconciling of accounts payable and reconciling accounts receivable.

• Preparing of aging accounts to the accounts receivable and accounts payable. Prepare the suppliers payments as well as follow up with the collector to collect customers checks, which means managing the cash flow and working capital.

• Supervise and distribute work to Accounting staff.

• Posting and finalizing for closing the Accounts.

• Prepared the Depreciation schedules, Expenses, Advance Payment, and allocate the period share to the expenses and cost.

• Prepare the accruals accounts, provisions accounts and allocate the proper costing to the cost centers.

• Perform the perpetual inventory than the periodical physical inventory.

• Prepare the accounting policies and procedure to be applied by staff, therefore controlling the work.

• Prepare Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Cash Flow Statement.

• Perform Financial Accounting Analysis.

• Prepare Budget control to show the decision makers the achievement of the budget, as well as the Variances and the cause of the Variances.

• Prepare the proper documents for the process the activities.

• Reconcile the physical Petty cash with the accounts.

• Follow up Procurements procedure for the control of Raw Material

• Follow up with the Administration to control the Payroll cycle and labor cost.

• Process the overseas procurement through letter of credit, and with coordination with banks.

• Auditing as Internal Auditor and reporting to higher management for improving the internal control, and processes document cycles.

• Prepare financial managements reports for committee meeting.

• Supervising all daily routine matters of administration department and human resources such as advertisement to selection of staff hiring, structuring the employees training programs, approval and recommendation of staff recruiting, terminations, reward, increments.

Financial Controller at Excelsior Hotel (Now Sheraton - Deira)
