As a Principal project development & control engineer, I’m responsible for :
• Leading a fast tracked program (Value of 40 $m) for 2023 TA major projects to be implemented in 2023 Turnaround on short period (16 months). 18 projects with multi-disciplinary scope to close EHSS, RCA, Revenue opportunity items and catch the complex shutdown window. Main scope items was relate to the installation of new oil/water separator with all associated equipment’s such as pumps, instrumentations and electrical systems. (Largest in SABIC) utilizing the micro piles civil technology to implement the structure. In addition, the program scope included many columns internals modifications, critical instruments installations and upgrading process systems to improve the plant’s operations (Olefins & U&O).
• Leading the execution of all YANSAB Instrumentation & Control related projects (Value of 25 $m). The scope includes cyber security improvement to meet the government and SABIC maturity target, enhance the physical security to cover HCIS requirements, replace obsolete control systems and upgrade complex metering system to meet Royal commission custody metering requirements.
• Aligning with all YANSAB engineering disciplines and operation departments to screen and select the 5 years capital projects using selection category and project priority based on SABIC CAPEX handling standard.
• Working with the related technical and the cost engineers to properly estimate the approved projects and conduct the business case based on the production impact, EHSS matrix, and Maintain business risk factor.
• Working with SABIC organization (CRC) to submit the CAPEX plan and categorize the project based on the financial criteria.
• Developing and oversee the implementation of Project Control procedures to cover Planning/Scheduling, Cost Management, Risk Management, Progress Reporting and Web-based Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
• Developed main project tracking dashboard where the projects development phases are tracked and the management can automatically monitor the progress in all phases (Initiation, FEED, Detailed engineering, procurement, construction and financial closure).

I was A supervisor for a major turnaround project. The main activities and responsibilities were to develop and plan the execution for the turnaround scope items, resolve all challenges considering the scope definition, scope detailing, procurement, and contracting and stockholder management.
This activity requires the alignment of all refinery departments to prepare the Scope items based on the company objectives and strategies.
In addition, working with other units such as Control systems, capital projects unit, SAPMT, Operation engineering and finance and planning.
The main activities for the team were:
• Managing the long lead material procurement.
• Managing the execution contracts procurements (SFC, MFC, LFC, and DC PR).
• Managing the electrical systems upgrade projects.
• Managing the Control Systems Upgrade.
• Managing the capital projects related to the turnaround period.
MANAGER, MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING AT YANBU REFINERY
Job Role: Management
I was managing the maintenance engineering Unit under Yanbu Refinery maintenance division. The main assignment was to develop a new unit, select, and develop the engineers in order to properly engage them in the organization with the roles and responsibilities of the unit. The main responsibilities were handling the expense projects planning, procurements and execution. In addition, the unit handled the major maintenance activities engineering, planning and executions.
LEAD PROJECT ENGINEER AT YANBU REFINERY/SAUDI ARAMCO
1- Leading$50 million project activities to Upgrade electrical, instrumentation and automation systems. The project includes the installation of new UPSs,
Burner Management Systems, Vibration Monitoring Systems, Radar Tank Gauging Systems and Emergency Shutdown Systems. The project activities included coordination the construction activities between the project team and the operations for commissioning, migrating and starting the new systems.
2- Directs the preparation of designs, engineering studies, and related activities.
MASTER'S DEGREE, ENGINEERING GRADUATE STUDIES IN THE AREA OF OIL & GAS PROCESSING, REFINING & PETROCHEMICALS

Awarded a dual approved degree in Engineering Graduate studies in the area of Oil & Gas Processing, Refining & Petrochemicals, with specialization in Distillation Control, under Oil & Gas Surface Facilities (OGSF) Program co-administered by KFUPM Chemical Engineering Dept. and French Petroleum Institute (IFP).
Providing technical support activities for Yanbu Refinery (Plant support, projects technical support, and developing a new design package utilizing international and local engineering standards) regarding field instruments devices, control valves, Emergency Isolation Valves (EIV) & interface with others systems (ESD, DCS, VMS, MCC and Corrosion Monitoring System).
•Investigating and troubleshooting plant problems
AUTOMATION PROJECT ENGINEER
AT SAUDI ARAMCO/PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM
Completing the FEED studies for two major capital projects.
1. YRD CDU Upgrade Project: I have completed the instrumentation and control package for the new CDU train. The project included new DCS, ESD,
VMS and PLCs. Moreover, the project included hundreds of new FF field devices. The main challenge was to integrate the new control systems to the existing systems.
2. YRD Auxiliary Control Systems: I have completed the FEED package for a new project to upgrade the BMS (Burner Management System), DCS, ESD, VMS and replace valves motor actuators.
Preparing and reviewing engineering packages.
•Supporting capital project design, commissioning and startup.
•Programming and verifying PLC systems.
•Investigating and troubleshooting plant problems to specify the root causes and recommend the proper solutions.
Planning the design and construction of electrical distribution network (13.8 kV cables, packaged substations, trenches...etc.).
•Estimating the project to electrify new areas.
