Roles and Responsibilities - HSE Supervisor
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client safety requirements, and statutory regulations at the worksite.
Promote a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and subcontractors through continuous monitoring and guidance.
Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and safety walkdowns to identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
Implement and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities including hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, excavation, and work at height.
Carry out Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Hazard Identification studies before commencement of work activities.
Ensure proper use, inspection, and compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all work locations.
Monitor lifting activities, crane operations, rigging practices, and heavy equipment movement to ensure safe execution.
Supervise scaffolding activities and verify scaffolding safety compliance as per approved standards and procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for workers, supervisors, and contractors.
Investigate incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare incident reports, inspection reports, observation reports, and maintain accurate HSE documentation and records.
Ensure emergency response preparedness by conducting mock drills, emergency evacuation exercises, and fire prevention activities.
Monitor fire safety systems, firefighting equipment, and emergency escape arrangements to ensure readiness and compliance.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and client representatives to integrate safety requirements into project execution plans.
Verify safe work procedures, method statements, and risk control measures before execution of critical activities.
Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 standards, client safety procedures, and environmental health and safety requirements.
Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Ensure proper barricading, warning signs, tagging systems, and safety signage are available at hazardous locations.
Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, lifting gears, electrical systems, and machinery for safe operational condition.
Monitor confined space activities including gas testing, ventilation, standby arrangements, and rescue preparedness.
Ensure work-at-height activities are performed safely with proper fall protection systems and certified access equipment.
Participate in HSE meetings with clients and management to discuss safety performance, observations, and improvement plans.
Support implementation of Behavior Based Safety (BBS) programs and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
Maintain records of training, certifications, inspections, audits, permits, and safety statistics for management review.
Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure subcontractors follow project HSE requirements and site rules.
Conduct environmental inspections related to waste management, spill prevention, pollution control, and housekeeping standards.
Assist management in achieving project safety targets, zero LTI goals, and continuous improvement of HSE performance.
Ensure all employees are medically fit, properly trained, and competent for assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Coordinate with emergency teams and medical personnel during emergencies, incidents, or evacuation situations.
Promote proactive hazard reporting and encourage workforce involvement in maintaining a safe working environment.
