• Responsible for package formation involving the package kick off meeting with all the stake holders to sum up the requirements of the package.
• Responsible for tender stage which deals with preparation of technical tender documents viz., preparation of the technical bids including scope of work, technical and engineering specifications, list of documents and drawings to be included in the bid which are binded in the Document List and spelling all the data requirements from vendor in vendor data requirement list..
• Responsible for preparation/review of BoM/MTO in pre bidding stage.
• Responsible for post bidding engineering which deals with tender clarification and tender evaluation and preparing the recommendation for the award to client.
• Responsible for post award- engineering involving documents/drawings review & approval. Conducting Design review, hazard identification study. Handling site engineering queries, concession requests raised by the contractor or the vendor.
• Responsible for managing and co-ordination of engineering inputs with the construction.
• Responsible for closeout process which includes reviewing and approving red-line, as built drawings, Hazop closeout and reviewing and closing out all the engineering issues.
• Design of tools required for the commissioning or operation which otherwise are not covered under any package.
• Responsible for verifying the piping installation specifications and verification of isometric drawings for the compressed air line of the smelter area.
• Accomplished layout finalization of the new smelter in coordination with technology supplier and submission of detailed project report for approval.
• Involved in preparation of technical enquiries, engineering, planning, construction and commissioning of the relocation/ re-routing of the following minor projects of the brown-field project:
o Main raw water header for 540 MW captive power plant without the interruption of intake water.
o Red mud slurry disposal line for the 250kTpa alumina refinery.
o 2X100 MT weigh bridge for the outward and inward logistics of the smelter.
o 3X500 m3 /hr cross flow induced draft type cooling tower for the sheet rolling shop.
• Accounted for:
• Preparation of tendering bids and finalization of the orders for the key areas of smelter project including a capacity enhancement study in existing rodding shop of Balco.
• Finalization of all the major packages as a techno commercial team member of about 120 million USD of smelter project within stipulated budget and time.
• Execution of major mechanical/structural packages execution which included the following major packages:
• Structural steel erection, roofing and cladding work
• Process equipments fabrication and installation
• Refractory work for the process equipments of the area.
• DC feeding electrical busbar system.
• Material handling system including conveyor system, dense phase and hyper dense phase conveying systems.
Served at various positions and locations for Vedanta group including its three major process plants in Orissa, India and Chhattisgarh India.
