Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and optimize working capital.
Internal Audit:
Develop and implement internal audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies and regulations.
Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of potential concern and recommend improvements.
Perform regular internal audits to ensure financial transactions are accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant standards.
Compliance:
Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations, laws, and standards to ensure the organization's compliance.
Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory authorities as needed.
Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Financial Analysis:
Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Identify financial trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to measure and monitor organizational performance.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant financial data for reporting purposes.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams to ensure a high level of performance and professional development.
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
Fuel Station Retail Services and Logistics Management:
• Monitoring finance department’s day-to-day operations, setting strategic goals, objectives,
contingency plans, and designing the framework.
• Participate in strategic financial and business data analysis, research, benchmark, standards, and
modelling implementation according to senior company leadership direction and guidance.
• Correspond with other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths.
• Fuel Stations forecasting, budgeting, financial reports, variance, and evaluations periodically.
• Control monthly & periodic budget, sales, expenses, variances and financial performance evaluation.
• Fund Management and cash flow statements monthly with a comparison of budgeting and actuals.
• Ensure compliance, auditing, Tax, accounting standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
Construction and Real Estate Management:
• Track forecasting and budgeting for each new Gas station construction or civil engineering projected costs, liabilities, cost control, financial risks, budgetary discrepancies, redevelopment, development, construction, maintenance, up gradation and cash flow management.
• Working closely with the estimator and procurement to ensure alignment on costs and expenditures.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business partners, customers and vendors.
• Revenue recognition, project completion percentage, customer bidding, and contract evaluation.
• Setting rental rates, negotiating and enforcing lease agreements, addressing tenant financial
complaints, and inspecting vacated units.
• Contracting and supervising repairs and maintenance work and preparing reports on the financial performance of properties.
Investments and Portfolio Management:
• Evaluate the financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
• Understand and calculate the risks involved in the organizations financial activities.
• Strategies on fund procurement through banks and other financial institutions.
• Prudently make investments in assets that maximize returns and handle multiple acquisitions.
• Control corporate and bank guarantees, loans, bank facilities, partner debts and equity.
• Analyzing market trends and competitors.
• Calculating WACC, NPV, IRR, asset replacement cycle, inventory management system, working
capital management, and investment appraisals.
Planning:
• Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
• Develop financial and VAT strategies
• Manage the capital request, budgeting, forecasting, and collection processes.
Operations:
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
• Manage the accounting, human resources, operational, investor relations, legal, and treasury departments
• Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
• Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
• Implement operational best practices and Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions.
• Oversee employee benefits, with particular emphasis on maximising a cost-effective benefits package.
Financial Information:
• Oversee the issuance of financial information
• Report financial results to the top management
Funding
• Monitor budgeting, cash balances, and cash forecasts.
• Arrange for debt and equity financing
• Maintain banking relationships
• Participate and represent the company investors and bankers.
Project Accounting:
• Oversee the project transactions, cost, revenue recognition, variance, and analysis
• Oversee the progress of projects, assets, profitability, aging, write-off, and internal and external auditors.
• Oversee the progress stage valuation, closing strategies, tools, and techniques with final reports.
• Play a key role in designing and implementing effective internal control systems
• Initial Setup and emplacing costing mechanism
• Financial Policy Making and Decision-making mechanics
• Bank reconciliations, payroll, Petty cash management, month-end closing, and generating final financial statements and analysis.
Current Responsibility Outline:
• Reporting to the Director/ Partner entrusted with the overall responsibility of generating scrupulous financial statements and reviewing them effectively.
• Responsible for cash flow forecasting and fund flow with top management to develop long-term and short-term financial plans and coordinate with operations to ensure effective implementation.
• Extending key technical support to team members on IAS, IFRS, etc
• Ensuring implementation of proper internal controls through significant inputs
• Building and maintaining financial models to assist in the economic analysis of market alternatives
• Calculating landed cost, cost of goods sold, weighted average cost, return on investments, residual income, and Internal rate of return.
• And maintain fixed assets registered, including depreciation, impairment, and amortisation.
