As a Database Architect, my responsibilities include managing administrating and documenting database model in close collaboration with Team and Domain Leaders. Also to ensure consistent and optimized database design, application of DB changes following SQL syntax best practices. Keeping development, testing, functional testing environments available for day to day development and issue investigation activities. This also requires technical solution proposal and evaluation, doing the impact analysis and then delivering the change. Initial assignments included implementing virtual private database (VPD) using fine grained access control. Starting with doing gap analysis, writing technical specification, implementing in qualification environment, identifying and fixing further issues, & delivering the change to prod. As this was implemented to a complex system integrated with external systems, therefore post production issues also were very demanding in terms of maintaining business continuity. Also did 10g migration project (from 6i to 10g). These projects required extensive research with oracle releases as parts of older API had become obsolete as well. Being a very old system, certain conventions used were also causing issues when such technical solutions were implemented. As a valuable resource working for in house development I have also worked as apps administrator. This required using adadmin utility for cloning and patching. Acquired experience in concurrent managers for apps performance, & management of batch processing.

Worked on the analysis and design of Processing Stocks Management System with emphasis on identifying the problems, breaking large processes into smaller manageable ones, & improving on the accuracy. Designed an online transaction processing system for the Production units. Managing the system on both the Front and back end. Importing the old non-oracle data into Oracle. Updating oracle tables afterwards by using PLSQL (i.e. Making the data importable into normalized Schema). Involved in Database Administration tasks like oracle server installation, instance specific configuration settings, performance tuning, backups using jobs etc.
