• Develop Information Security Plans and Policies: -
Develop a set of security standards and best practices for the organization and recommend security enhancements to management as needed.
Develop strategies to respond to and recover from a security breach.
Responsible for educating the workforce on information security through training and building awareness.
• Implement Protections: -
Assist with the install and configure the network security architectures, including firewalls (SonicWALL, Palo Alto, Sophos, FortiGate, ..., etc), Demilitarized Zones (DMZ), router ACLs (Access Control Lists), web content filters and data encryption programs to protect organizations’ sensitive information.
Assist computer users with installation or processing of new security products and procedures.
• Test for Vulnerabilities: -
Conducts periodic scans of networks to find any vulnerability using Nessus vulnerability scanning software and Intrusion detection software such as Snort.
Conduct penetration testing, in which simulate an attack on the system to highlight or find any weaknesses that might be exploited by a malicious party.
• Monitor for Security Breaches: -
Monitor organization’s networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions.
Install software that helps to notify of intrusions and watch out for irregular system behavior.
• Investigate Security Breaches: -
Lead incident response activities to minimize the impact. Afterward, lead a technical and forensic investigation into how the breach happened and the extent of the damage.
Prepare reports of findings to be reported to management.
Network Supervisor Tasks
Plan, design and help the networking team in establishing a network knowing the requirements of the organization.
Prepare design plans and tests which are applicable to assist disaster recovery expeditions.
Perform reviews and provide support to network strategies before implementation.
Plan network infrastructure for applications and services.
• Installation: -
Responsible for installing and configuring systems, which includes the software and hardware necessary to maintain a network. Whether it's a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN).
Maintain LAN and WAN, anti-virus, spam, and other technological backups.
• Operational Management: -
Develop enforce and maintain network security policies and practices.
Manage and maintain the network, as well as network performance monitoring, security reliability, and accessibility.
Monitor LAN and WAN bandwidth and performance.
Configure VPN using different technology (Cisco, Mikrotik, SonicWALL).
Configure routing and switching equipment and hosted IP voice services.
Troubleshoot and repair.
Prepare budget requests.
Update the systems regularly with antivirus, firewall, and spyware and protect any kind of viruses and breakdowns in the network.
Develop a backup/disaster recovery plan for a network emergency.
System Administrator Tasks
• Design, install and configure internal and employees facing servers, network devices and firewalls.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Install and configure Blade Servers, SAN Switches, SAN Storage and tab library.
• Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere.
• Monitor and Maintain Virtualization technologies such as vCenter, vMotion and HA.
• Administer and support Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix and VMware technologies.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Provide 3rd level support.
• Proactively manage and maintain server (Active directory, DNS, Group Policies, DHCP, Folder management, WSUS), network and firewalls.
