• Managing Network Operations of FBR (Federal Board of Revenue - Govt. of Pakistan) Tier-3 Data Center 24x7x365, connecting over 200 sites nationwide.
• Implemented best practice methodologies to improve datacenter support activities, & ensured datacenter staff took advantage of industry best practices for optimal efficiency and impact resulting in 99.9% up-time for the network.
• Analyzed needs & authored network/system hardware & deployment requirement specifications; Prepare RFI/RFP for tenders; Led evaluation of vendor proposals and identified potential strengths/weaknesses.
• Worked closely with other technical groups to ensure Network Operations teams are providing the appropriate level of support for all Operational applications, systems, network and processes.
• Developed staffing plan and job descriptions. Identified, interviewed, recruited, and hired team members. Established and evaluated staff performance to stated goals, as well as monitored and appraised performance and professional progress of staff.
• Nurtured relationships and communications with Principal Vendors, ISPs/Carriers, Key Hardware, Software & Infrastructure vendors.

Data Center & DR Deployment (Jan 2013 to March 2013):
Project Cost: PKR 24 Millions = Approx. $300, 000
Scope Of project: FBR Karachi Datacenter offering services to Customs, Income Tax and Sales Tax users (internal & external) 24x7x265.
• Designed, Configured and implemented network architecture of FBR Karachi datacenter in fully HA mode this included Switching (Avaya & Juniper), Firewalls/IPS/VPN (Juniper & Sonicwall), Load-balancers (A10 & Brocade), Internet plus WAN architecture.
• Designed, configured and implemented network architecture of the DR site within Karachi and Islamabad.

Nationwide WAN (July 2012 to Jan 2013):
Project Cost: PKR 9.9 Millions per quarter = Approx. $100, 000 per quarter
Scope Of project: Design and deploy redundant connectivity between each FBR site (Customs, Income Tax, Sales Tax, Excise, etc) nationwide and FBR datacenters in Karachi and Islamabad with autofailover.
• 210 WAN sites with multiple media (Fiber, Radio Bridges, DVBS2 iDirect Satellite).
• Layer-3 MPLS and GRE tunnels to maintain redundancy.
• Configured internal routing on OSPF.

FBR Video Conferencing : (Mar 2012 to May 2012)
Project Cost: PKR 14 Million ≈ $1.4 Million
Scope Of Project: Implementation and deployment of Video Conferencing Solution for Federal Board of Revenue Major Offices with headquarter.
• Deployed FBR Video Conferencing solution.
• Connecting 29 remote sites using H.323 protocols & QoS
• WAN links to prioritize Voice & Video traffic for optimum performance.
• Deployment and configuration of Cisco MCU 4515 Video Conferencing Unit and Cisco TMS and it integration with Tandberg VCS Profile 52’, 42’ Units.

Karachi MAN (Sep 2008 to Feb 2009):
Project Cost: PKR 1 Million per Month = Approx. $10, 000 per Month
Scope Of project: Setup connectivity for all Pakistan Customs locations within Karachi
• 15 Point to Point and 10 Point to Multipoint inter-city sites over wireless bridges.
• Implemented OSPF for automatic primary/backup link failover.

One Customs (WAN) Deployment (Oct 2005 to Dec 2005):
Project Cost: PKR 3.3 Million per Month = Approx. $35, 000 per Month
Scope Of project: Implementation of centralized data processing from all major customs locations.
• 12 Frame Relay, 14 SCPC VSAT Sites
• Configured all routers with using static and OSPF Routing.
• Successfully delivered the project within a limited time frame.
■ Interfaced with marketing/sales personnel to identify requirements and developed Telecom WAN solutions to meet customer requirements.
■ Responsible for providing client-end support for Pearl Consulting installed-base of ATM Switches and proprietary Software solutions at InstaPhone / Mobilink / Paktel GSM / Telenor & UFone in the South Region (Sindh & Baluchistan).
■ Look after administrative matters and arrange miscellaneous resources in region.

■ Configured, monitored and administered Pakistan Customs Data Network as part of a Network Operations Team (NOC). This included installation & configuration of PCs, Printers, WAN, MAN & LAN with Routers, Switches, Wireless Serial Radios/Ethernet Bridges, DXX, ISDN lines & Internet services including HTTP Cache (Squid) & DNS (Bind).
