MAIN RESPONSIBILITY
• To provide technical oversight to water quality operators during wells, boreholes and FRC monotoring.
• Encharged in water quality testing, monitoring and reporting
KEY ACTIVITIES
• Lead a team of water of quality operators to chlorinate all the water points with required a mount of chlorine to attain the required FRC at fetching points .
• Set up equipment or stations to monitor water quality testing.
• Train water quality operators on water testing procedures and use of water treatment chemicals and reagents.
• Train water users committees on simple ways of ensuring water quality at the source and simple water chlorination methods.
• Make recomendations to control or eliminate unsafe conditions at water source, taps stands or water kioks and at household levels that are potential source of water contaminations.
• Develop water testing procedures and direct activites of water quality operations in the fields and in the laboratory.
• Maintain files and records of samples test results in order to monitor and interprets the water quality or contaminations trends at all points and periods
• Periodically calibrates water testing equipments and apparatus.
• Carry out technical assessment of all the water points fitted with pumping equipment and record their conditions including the state of the reticulation and storage systems and the state of the bore-hole protection in close liaison with logistics and Administration, ensure coordinated delivery of parts and whole pumps and all materials necessary for the execution of the tasks.
• To prepare weekly and monthly technical plans and progress reports of the project and assist the WASH Officer/Manager for reporting needs and to carry an assessment and reports as and when requested by the WASH Coordinator or Project Coordinator.
• Problem-solve issues that arise on program implementation.
• Ensure the proper follow-up of activities and monitor the ongoing works
Awarded the degree of bsc microbiolgy with a grade of 75.14 after having completed successfully the prescribed course. studied scholarship in this degree after scoring high marks in secondary schools in 2006.
