Have received exceptional employee award for 2015
After Joining ADSB in June 2009, I was apponited to France in April 2010 to be part of the French Lead Yard on ADSB behalf - for performing a key role for the installation, integration, setting-to-work and test / trials of weapons and sensors of First-of-Class Ship. My duties also incuded Quality Control Engineer & HSE Manager roles for the construction, test & trials & commissioning of the Ship.
The weapons, sensors, electronic warfare systems and navcom setup have been acquired through 21 world class defense system suppliers. The most important aspect of that assignment has been contract management for collaborative coordinated work with all these suppliers for the ship construction & Test / Commissioning Tasks.
This organization looks after multidimensional Research and Development programs for Pakistan Navy for their combat systems, electrical/mechanical/electronics/ sensors and Nav-aids development initiatives.
I have succefully executed and delivered about 20 research and development programs/initiatives of Marine Systems LTD, related to state-of-the art Combat Management System, RADARS, SONARS, EW equipment, Electronics Systems, Nav Aids and Sensors of PN operational Platforms.
My responsibilities included collaborative working with international defence system vendors of high repute for contract management of complex combat systems projects completion.
I also established & managed HSE & Quality Control Management processes as General Manager Quality Assurance & Control for the south region of that organization.
Managed quality assurance & control processes of PN Dockyard in accordance with ISO 9001 Standard and ensured productive & secure functioning of safety organization based on OHSAS 18001 International Standard.
PN Dockyard is the Mega Military Marine Yard capable to build submarines & warships while undertaking repair, maintenance & up gradation of all Pakistan Navy Fleet of Ships & Submarines. It has about 90 work centers performing multidimensional work-processes of various engineering disciplines with a work force of about 350 engineers & 6500 supervisors.
I have tremendous contribution in conceptualizing, establishing, implementing, certifying and maintaining requirements of ISO: 9001 Quality Management System & OHSAS 18001 Safety Management System, for the industrial / non-industrial processes of PN Dockyard.
I have also been the focal point & key player from 1997 to 2007- for achieving & continually maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification for PN Dockyard.
My achievements in Quality Control have been recognized by the award of letter of appreciation at highest level in Pakistan Navy
Managed Installation, integration, setting-to-work and harbor/sea acceptance trials of Combat Management System, weapons / sensors and external radio communication systems onboard 03 Agosta 90-B submarines indigenously built by Pakistan.
During construction of first submarine at Cherbourg France, received 14.5 months dedicated on job specialized training from DCN France on the profile of Project Engineering Manager.
Ensured all quality assurance, HSE management and quality control aspects for the Submarine Construction Program - as Quality Control Manager - HSE Manager
During this tenure, managed performance of more than 50, 000 Quality Control inspections related to hull construction, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronics and combat systems and performed more than 300 process/system Quality Audits for the 2nd & 3rd Agosta 90-B Submarines built indigenously by the Pakistan Navy.
For that tenure, my Manager Quality Assurance role was well recognised by French DP(MSQ) Ministry and submarine was provided with necessary certification & clearance from Quality Control point to dive & conduct its operational missions.
After joining Agosta 90-B submarines construction program of Pakistan Navy in 1998, ensured Program Manager responsibility after completing dedicated OJT of 14.5 months and received dedicated specialized training from DCN France on the profile of Program Engineering Manager.
Alongwith my French counter parts & yard teams of DCN Cherbourg, ensured Combat Systems Program Manager task for First Agosta 90-B Submarine for Pakistan built in France. That included Installation, integration, setting-to-work and harbor/sea acceptance trials of Combat Management System, weapons / sensors and external radio communication system.
Successfully managed the task of Maintenance Manager and ensured successful accomplishment of all technical assignments related to the maintenance, up gradation and functioning of weapons and sensors of PN Submarines. The task included long refit management of a submarine concurrently with various planned and unplanned technical maintenance tasks of diversified nature, performed by 11 workshops related to weapons/sensors of submarines comprising 50 engineers and about 500 supervisors and workers.
An extremely challenging task as Ship's Weapon Electrical Officer and Senior Systems Engineer, in view of the ship being most latest and hi-tech platform of PN at that time.
Ensured continued availability of on-board systems & equipment for all planned mine-hunting missions. While performing this duty, undertook indigenous defect rectification task on personal initiative, for ship's gas turbine controls and SONAR System. Hallmark of that achievement has been ingenuity and a total reliance on indigenous resources while facing acute shortage of spares and requisite technical expertise.
These efforts were recognized at the highest level and President Islamic Republic of Pakistan conferred the award of "Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military)" on 14 Aug 1995, the most prestigious & highest ranking technical excellence award of the country.
This was the first independent command as Head of Department in the professional career. The ship had to frequently proceed on security and area surveillance missions and all the electrical equipment & systems had to be kept operational and to optimum performance level.
It has been first professional assignment after formal completion of last phase of technical training. The US Brook-Garcia class ships outfitted with latest weapons / sensors provided adequate professional experience and hardcore working knowledge on real time systems.
This assignment required that all the Combat Systems and other support electronic systems on-board to be kept fully operational and at optimum performance level for all combat missions of the Ship.
