Qatar National Bank has steadily grown to be the biggest bank in Qatar and the largest financial institution in the Middle East and
Africa with Total Assets of US$ 222 billion.
Duties include:
 Ensure that outcome of the risk projects (across QNB group in all 24 countries) are implemented as planned;
 Ensure business requirements are implemented in risk systems as per stakeholders’ expectations;
 End-to-end liaison with internal and external customers/vendors for the overall risk management projects;
 Provide timely and accurate reports to Group Risk senior management;
 Developing and delivering User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and training to all end users; and,
 Leading team of 5 people for delivering efficient results.
Significant achievements:
 Leading role for Group-wide implementation (Data & system work stream) of IFRS9 tactical solution. This includes
overall data & technological transformations for Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations across 13 entities;
including regulatory reporting and Management Dashboards.
 Successfully automated Asset Liability Management, Liquidity and Market Risk reporting across QNB and its
major international entities. Ambit Focus (FIS/SunGard solution) ALM solution was implemented.
 Successfully automated Country Risk Appetite Limits monitoring including BAU Monitoring and Reporting.
 Completely automated the manual paper and judgemental based rating process by implementing a Moody`s Risk
Rating system across QNB group. End to end reporting and process was automated.
 Implementation of the ”Risk Data Warehouse” system, which provided a single, reliable (100% automatic
reconciliation with Balance Sheet), consistent BI reporting and analytical layer across bank;
 Implemented mobile/iPad based reporting application for senior management; providing detailed insight of all
major risks (Credit, Market and Operational Risk) within a single application;
 Awarded “Outstanding Contribution Award” - Year 2012 -2013 - Qatar National Bank
Major ERM Systems Implemented:
 Corporate Credit Workflow Infrastructure Automation (End to End Credit Life cycle management);
 Economic Capital based Portfolio Management System;
 Risk Data Warehouse - IBM Data Warehouse and Cognos BI tool;
 Portfolio Limit Management;
 Asset & Liability Management System; and,
 Core Banking Upgrade Project.

 Developed and implemented corporate credit loan origination system across all business units; and,
 Led the project of integrating risk rating system, corporate credit workflow and limit management system.

People Benefits was a major software development service provide in Karachi, Pakistan. This was a dual role with primary
responsibilities of system analyst and software development management.
Duties included:
 Ensuring business requirements are implemented and developed as per stakeholders’ expectations;
 Development of functional design; including business process reengineering and change management processes;
 Developing a comprehensive software architecture for software developers;
 Software development management;
 Managed a team of 9 members including developers, testers and interface designers and used ‘Agile’ as Project
methodology.
 User Acceptance Testing (UAT) management; including testing strategy, planning and development of test packs.
Significant achievements:
 Designed and developed Service Centre; a web-based low-cost business process management (BPM) system with
unique features designed to rapidly create paper less work environment;
 Implemented Service Desk in various industry sector including Pharmaceutical, Banks, FMCGs and Academia.
 Successfully served as a project manager for ITIL process automation of Bank Islami Pakistan.
Implemented enhancements to the incident reporting system which provided the framework for escalation and
reporting of errors, establishment of a senior management forum for root cause analysis of incidents, sharing of
lessons learnt and monitoring of corrective actions to minimise their recurrences.

 Developed business process automation Index, analysed, studied and interviewed 6 departments that included
Business Technology, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Medical and Human Resource to calculate Automation Index in
overall company operation. The research reports helped Business Technology team to identify problems and lack
of automation in the various operations within the company.
