Prepare together with different engineering disciplines the project tender packages, bid evaluation, negotiations and placing orders with successful suppliers or contractors. Coordinate also with engineering and procurement to review the scope of the project in terms of deliverables to be received, approved and finalize schedules and payment milestones to be met. Fix resources required and support in terms of required co ordination with the respective teams to ensure execution as per defined parameters
Assisting Project Manager in executing different large size projects from preparation of tender packages, Project planning up to implementation and handover to Operation.
Supervising the activities of the following divisions :
•Planning Division
•Engineering Division .
•Inspection Division .
•Warehouse and Material Division .
•Civil Division
In charge of :
•Coordinate and ensure the operation of the Section according to agreed budgets and polices.
• Develop strategies for project execution
• Select and manage modern tools for project management
• Control project execution effectively and efficiently
•Plan and organize the activities of the Section for the most efficient utilization of available staff and working hours.
•Ensure that qualified resources are available at optimum level in the Section, and initiate recruitment and/or training needs as required.
•Participate in the annual budget preparation procedures, providing input to other Sections in Maintenance and Production Department and carry the responsibility for collecting information and workout budget for own Section.
•Develop organization according to needs, motivate the Staff, and ensure the training of Qataris.
•The position has a specific responsibility for the following tasks:
-Prepare, organise and perform modifications and projects ( PMP ) .
-Technical advisor for production- maintenance- departments .
-Drawing and construction control/approvel
-Updating of technical flow sheets and equipment register
-Perform technical inspections and reports
-Short and long term planning
-Civil maintenance tasks
-Maintenance and operation of buildings
-Responsible for painting, schaffolding and insulation
-Responsible for negotiations of frame contracts
-Responsible for technical filing/document control .
- Maintenance and development of the plants technical standard
-Spare parts (Stock control, ordering, receiving, refurbishment , and distribution) .
•Insure that all work should meet official standards and good engineering practice.
Supervising the activities of the following five section heads :
•Rotating Equipment section.
•Instrument / control section.
•Electrical section.
•Mechanical section (Inspection of static equipment )
•Document control
In charge of :
•Preparation of maintenance policies, general and technical procedures, maintenance programs, contract scope of work and maintenance planning .
•Preparation of scope of works and follow-up executions of contracts for main equipments repair and major overhauls.
•Following-up resolution of outstanding problems with contractors / vendors.
•Yearly budget preparation and administration.
•Engineering and implementation of plant modifications.
•Review of engineering standards, project specifications, vendor data and documentations for approval.
•Supervising site construction and commissioning of all new installations.
Rotating Equipment Section Head
Responsible for machinery upgrades and retrofits, and new compressor installations, for offshore platforms. This covered multi-stage, multi-case compressors, gas turbines, gearboxes, couplings and lube and seal oil systems. Work included specification and selection of new multi-case NGL Compressor and HP Re injection Compressor to API and Shell DEP Standards, re-rate of existing compressors, up rating of GE Frame 5 gas turbines, retrofit of dry gas seals, replacement of pneumatic surge controllers with CCC electronic surge and performance control system, and change-out of gear couplings to diaphragm couplings. Review Vendor drawings, Documents, P&ID's and reports. Provide technical support and advice on rotating equipment to Maintenance and Production Departments. Responsibilities also included troubleshooting, inspection of equipment, installation, commissioning, testing and start-up.
Supervise the activities of three rotating equipment engineers who are responsible on monitoring, trouble shooting and inspection of following fleet of equipments, using either in-house or contractored out man power :-
Three tandem Mansemann Demag centrifugal gas compressors.
Three G.E. Frame 5 gas turbines ( each 22, 000 hp ).
Twelve RGT turbogenerator sets ( each 2.3 Mw ) .
Ten crude oil loading pumps ( different makers ) driven by RGT TA/TB .
Eight high speed Sundyne pumps electric motor driven.
Detailed design engineering work on a number of projects to API Standards and other Standards. Reviewed and approved Vendor drawings and data sheets, lateral and tensional analysis reports, Campbell Diagrams, performance curves and factory test procedures. Attended and witnessed factory Mechanical Run tests, ASME PTC10 Performance Tests and Lube Oil Console tests. Involved in installation, commissioning and start-up.
In charge of:
-Technical execution of new projects which includes:
•Generation of different rotating equipments specifications.
•Preparation of tender document, vendor’s clarifications and bid evaluation.
•Review and comment vendor data, drawings and specifications.
-Responsible for the planning, reporting of project ‘s progress.
-Administration staff of the section.
-Section budget preparation.
-Evaluation of site commissioning reports
-Preparation of project hand-over documents.

-Preparation of required specifications, mainly for rotating equipments.
-Attend vendor clarification and kick-off meetings.

-Gulf of Suez gas plant (160 MMSCFD).
-Offshore gas gathering station (GUPCO Unit 108).
-Abu-Madi LPG plant, phase II.
-Assuit Crude Oil Refinery.

Served as lead mechanical engineer in gas turbine testing, developing and performance evaluation. Participated in most gas turbine design activities.

Served as testing engineer in mechanical laboratory, conducted different types of mechanical tests on semi and / or finished critical parts of gas turbine internal, evaluated gas turbine mechanical behavior, dynamic performance and condition monitoring of gas turbines on services.
