Operation Engineer in combined cycle power plant "1.1 GW "
My job role is :
• Starting and shutdown of Gas Turbines, HRSG and Steam Turbines in a safely manner.
• Maintaining a safe operation of the power plant.
• Training new operators on HMI software" Ovation power plant management and operation software, ABB control room operation software "workstation", Alespa operation software"
• Isolating High and medium voltage circuit breakers 132 kv, 15 kv and 6.6kv
• Operating auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors and fuel "gas and diesel" heaters.
• Supervising power plant isolations for inspection and reporting the isolated equipments. • Identifying operational problems by observing and studying system functioning and performance results.
• Developing operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and screening alternative solutions; determining impact on total system.
• Anticipating operational problems by studying operating targets, modes of operation, unit limitations; monitoring unit performance.
• Maintaining safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Providing operational management information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating and engineering data and trends.
• Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
