Assist to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
Assist to organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
Assist to mentor students in a class, in small groups, and one-on-one.
Assist to implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
Assist in the implementation of the daily class program.
Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers and preparing needed materials and supplies.
Assist in supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.
Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals.
Maintaining records on students as required, for use in reviewing student's progress
Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with students with disabilities
Assist to prepare and help students to transit from grade to grade and after graduation
Assist to ensure communication development and confidence building in pupils.
Assist teachers with students sporting activities and with school trips.
Assist teachers during field trips to ensure all students are accounted for during presentations, lunch stops, and bus rides.
Getting the classroom ready for lessons and assist pupils’ in classroom activities
Carrying out instructional programs designed by Lead Teacher
Make reports on individual and group performance for classroom and recreational activities.
Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
Help in planning learning activities, school trips, outside activities and assist with children
Coordinated guided reading for all groups in the class.
Reading, Farming projects such as lives stock farming etc.
