• Apply and monitor the naming convention rule across all items on production server.

• Manage the storage area network of the channel by applying an agreed housekeeping policy to maintain a

• Manage online near line storage of the channel by
applying agreed procedures of keep, delete of the materials with the Newsroom.

• First line support for Aljazeera bureaus on sending NewsPKGs to the channel in file based format.

• Help and support 3rd parties, production houses in sending program PKGs to the channel in file based format.

• Process and technical check all video footage (News
Agencies, User generated content, news PKGs and rushes
from bureaus, programs PKGs, etc. ) by download, trans
code, rename & push to server with proper naming
convention allowing journalists to make an EDL & send to
News edit suites for further post production process.

• Download and technical check all media from XD CAM,
SXS, P2 and other portable Cards then trans code, rename &
push to server with proper naming convention allowing the
journalists to make an EDL & send to News edit suit for further post production process.

• Manage and facilitate the process of sharing the content between Aljazeera channels and broadcast centers.

• Outgest media clips to DVD, Blue ray.

• Prioritize requests to avoid bottleneck and streamline all processes in media hubs

• Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications for MAC and Windows PCs.

• Install Windows Server 2003 & 2008.

• First level support for iNews system.

• Create User’s accounts, emails and groups via AD
manager.

• Open/close incidents by HP Service Manager software.

• Create and restore images for HDD/partitions by
Symantec Ghost.

• Install and configure network printers and photocopiers.

• Respond to end user requests for any technical assistance or support for staff within the Network.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot incidents with hardware’s (MAC & PC), software’s (MAC & Windows), and communication devices and confirm resolution or escalate whenever required.

• Configure end user equipment to connect to the Internet and install new hardware and software.
• Provide the required technical assistance locally or remotely for groups or individual users as needed on the use of equipment or applications.

• Assist senior engineers and Team leaders in writing manuals and other documentation.

• Prepare reports about technical problems

• Insure quality and accuracy of work by providing accurate data.

• IT data entry for IT assets.

• Assist in testing IT devices and provide technical
recommendation.

• Prepare reports about technical problems and general reports relevant to the job and submit it to superiors/line manager.
