I have a blend of Enterprise application integration and business process management skills. I have worked on numerous Strategy realization initiatives focused on supporting and achieving business goals. I have a great ability to communicate technical topics to the C-Suite management and to translate business aspirations into organizational and technical improvements. I transformed from a Software Engineer to Operations Manager of a system integrator, benefiting from a strong technical background and developed business acumen to advise top management on strategic initiatives.

I also managed Verizon wholesale access products such as Ethernet, optical ring, and IP products with ordering volumes of 30K+ orders per month for over 700 wholesale customers such as AT&T, Verizon Business, and Sprint. Verizon wholesale generates 6 Billion dollars in annual revenue. In addition, I have been heavily invested in every aspect of the SDLC and wrote business requirements designs through client collaboration to ensure business products are designed, provisioned, billed and delivered in a timely manner. I led the development of J2EE N-tier architectural solutions and oracle database concepts. I am deeply involved in the testing phase of the products, and the production drops and support that follow

Statistical Analysis at City University of New York - City College
  • United States
  • February 2011 to September 2013

Assisted in the data analysis for the following publications:
Khalil, R and Levitt J.B (2012). Zinc histochemistry reveals circuit refinement and distinguishes visual areas in the developing ferret cerebral cortex. Brain Structure and Function, Sep 30 epub ahead of print.
Khalil, R., Brandt, L., and Levitt JB (In preparation). Developmental remodeling of corticocortical feedforward and feedback circuits in ferret visual cortex.

a. Used Imagej (NIH, v.144) to characterize levels of synaptic zinc in ferret visual cortex and analyzed the optical density of zinc staining in multiple visual cortical areas as well at multiple ages.
b. Wrote standalone VB.Net applications to analyze the large volume of datasets containing plot profiles automating the retrieval of critical numbers such as mean minimum, maximum, as well as the contrast modulated optical density values.
c. Wrote MATLAB functions to perform a Kruskal-Wallis test to determine if the optical density of zinc staining in multiple visual cortical areas of ferret brains differs significantly among areas as well as at different developmental ages. Furthermore, Post hoc comparisons between ages (in each area) and areas (at each age) were then computed using an adjusted Bonferroni correction. Used matlab cftool to determine polynomial best-fit functions versus custom function.
d. Statistical Functions: Kruskal-Wallis, Bonferroni correction, permutations, and best fit.
e. Arrays, Matrices, Indexing, loops, File I/O using load, xls, csv, dlm.
f. Created and Used various graphing statistical functions: plot, errorbar, gscatter, scatter, subplot, bar, hist and curve fitting
g. Utilized axes (gca) and figure (gcf) handles (tickmarks, labels, markers, legends, colors, figure margins) and various object handles to customize graphs and figures.
h. Customized output through annotations for arrows and text.

Database Administrator / .Net Developer at RESEARCH FOUNDATION OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
  • United States
  • October 2008 to July 2012

3-1-1 Project

a. Built a C# web application and a SQL 2005 database for Mayer Michael Bloomberg New York City 311 call center.

a. Administered SQL 2005 server Database. Built sql Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, Scalar and Aggregate functions.

b. Utilized “SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access” and database scripting to migrate data from Microsoft Access to SQL Server 2005 Database.

c. Utilized DTS services as well as C# classes and sql scripts to import data from the local database to the production server.

d. Used Object Oriented Design Techniques to implement dynamic, data Driven Web applications using ASP.Net 2.0 Framework, C#, Java Script, Linked and Embedded CSS Style Sheets, and Crystal Reports.
e. Arraylists of sessions and cookies were utilized to track users and exchange data. User roles were
f. implemented using ASP.NET Membership and role management services.

g. Utilized Arraylists, Asp bound fields, Item templates, Gridview containers, and Ajax controls (Popup control Extenders, Update panels, list search Extenders) for dynamic data binding.

h. Designed Custom Error and Debugging classes that sent errors to the database and redirected clients to a Custom Error page.

Manager/Web Developer at VERIZON TELECOMMUNICATIONS
  • United States
  • June 2005 to October 2008

a. Develop ASP.Net - AJAX / VB .Net/C# Applications using .NET 2.0 framework.

b. Created a centralized Validation Web application that was utilized across Verizon’s east and west regions. Classes, structures and object oriented techniques were utilized to build data extraction tools from a mainframe emulator, as well as building daily services to load text files into a database.

c. Administered the SQL server 2005 databases for the web application. Tables, triggers and stored procedures were built to perform hourly database updates, backups and reporting services.

d. Built a screen scrapper to extract data from the mainframe emulator and insert it into the database. The application extracted the data and held it is temporary SQL tables (created at run time), datatables and arraylists using create, update, and insert statements. The application utilized an FTP service to extract a flat comma delimited file and insert its contents into the SQL database.

e. Administered 64 bit dual core server running windows 2003 server. Configured the mail server, the ftp site and scheduling services. All were utilized to create a seamless integration between the Main frame, the databases and the web application.

f. Built Billing applications utilized by the Verizon east regions. The applications are generating revenue of approximately $400, 000 per month.

g. Improved the efficiency and accuracy of the daily processes by developing complex Excel macros in VBA to automate operations. Some of the macros accomplish in minutes what previously required days by hand. The programs involve key-stroke emulation, shell commands, error handling, parsing text files, cross-referencing data sets, responding to user input, and generating daily management reports.

h. Web browser automation by utilizing Visual Basic's Internet Explorer shell commands to mechanize input and form submission. Form input is cross-referenced with mainframe emulators and lotus Notes Databases.

i. In charge of the validation process. Lead and managed a team of five validators responsible for verifying run and stop clock time on tickets to validate the accuracy of the MTTR (Mean time To Repair) with the SLA (service level agreement) and ensure that the Metrics meet the company objectives on monthly basis. Validation is done on daily basis.
