- Setup & benchmarked 4 state-of-the-art parallel/distributed graph analytics platforms on a 40 node cluster:
- GraphPad (Distributed GraphMat), Graphlab PowerGraph, GraphX (on Spark) and Giraph.
- Deployed Hadoop (v1 & v2), including HDFS, MapReduce, and YARN (for Giraph and GraphX).
- Evaluated several common graph analytics application benchmarks on multiple real world big data graphs:
- incl. Wikipedia (50 million edges), Weibo (250 million edges), Twitter (1.5 billion edges).
- Aided in research on crowd sourced video streaming apps, 360 video players, GearVR apps.
- Developed accelerometer based webpage to display wide pictures using Three.js
- Built rudimentary video player app for the Samsung GearVR using Unity
- Worked with open source Workflow Management Systems (Pinball, Airlfow).
- Visualised ZeroAccesss Botnet Traffic with D3.
- Classified malware based on common domain communication*
- Analyzed a ~50000 node graph containing ~1.2 Million edges to understand graph's false positives*
* using Neo4j's graph database and its graph visualisation tool
- Downloaded/Mined Wikipedia SQL dumps to extract language-language title pairs.
- Wrote scripts to locate, download, extract and combine language-language subtitles.
- Wrote scripts to use BabelNet's API in order to download senses of given words.
- Wrote basic code to extract hardcoded subtitles off video screenshots.
Maintained computer labs and ensured they are ready for use.
