• Responsible for the specification compliance of designs. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
• Responsible for research and analyzing customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
• Responsible for carrying out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, simulation (e.g. thermal & stress) and design verification testing, as required.
• Responsible for mechanical parts selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost
• Responsible for reporting progress of all assigned tasks to the Engineering Management and Project management Teams
• Responsible for customer/client support (presentations and fault finding) as required
• Responsible for coaching and supporting Mechanical Engineers in design techniques and the departmental processes
• Responsible for reducing product costs by re-designing existing designs to increase profitability including designing new components and/or assembly processes
• Responsible for maintaining proper and adequate files, time-sheets and records at all times, including those necessary for the preparation of internal/external project job costing and time charging
• Responsible for the overall design work of allocated projects that will include particular responsibility for the Mechanical Services and the co-ordination of all other Services as applicable
• Responsible for maintaining quality management systems for both internal and external delivery of design projects
• Responsible for supporting manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other departments as needed to meet the overall company goal of producing high quality, with excellent value

• Helping out relevant functions in making of plans for Manufacturing, Assembling, Testing, Packaging, Transportation, Installation and commissioning
• Search and communication with vendors, suppliers for purchased parts specifications, suitability and costs
• Making of Quality Acceptance Criteria and Product Test Plans / criteria
• Maintenance of production data in both soft and hard form
