Responsibilities included:
• Review of works which are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national codes.
• Review and coordinate the performance of contractors, sub-contractors related to project status, schedule, cost control.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in foundation works, superstructure installation including all related works to project.
• Input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery
schedules and any other service requirements including contractor submittals.
• Responsible for reviewing and approving the contractor's submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Drawings and As-Builts.
• Having experience in progressively senior positions on large electrical or telecommunications installation or electrical scope projects either in a contractor organization and a Project Management Consultant role.
• Knowledge of Saudi Building Code, Saudi Electrical Code and BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations
• Having experience of managing the installation of Low Voltage and Extra Low Voltage networks across diverse campus facilities, Site wide electrical distribution across a campus of buildings or facilities including infrastructure.
• Proved as self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor's staff and field engineers.
• Able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the Client, Contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage the hand-off of milestone models and templates to consultants and contractors per the project design and contracting work packaging strategy.
• Support estimating and construction in developing standard processes for the reporting of design, quantity take-offs, enabling construction quantity reporting processes and forecasting by the Enterprise Project Management (EPM).
• Power System Calculations: Cable Sizing & Voltage Drop Calculations Developing Earthing & Lightning Protection System, Sizing of Capacitor Bank, Sizing of Generator, Sizing of Transformer, Preparation of MCC Schedule, Preparation of Panel Schedule, Calculating No. of Lighting Fittings. Developing Single Line Diagram (SLD)
• Electrical System Studies using ETAP: One Line Diagram, Voltage Drop Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis, Motor Start Analysis.
• Low Current System Supervision: Audio/Visual System, Telephone & Data, Network Security System, Fire Alarm, BMS System, PLC SCADA.
• Employed to support project objective to achieve Superior Performing Asset status in the Manazel group of companies by delivering projects aimed to increase production and operating reliability.
• Reports to the Engineering Senior Manager (ESM) of the Project Development Department (PDD) on all technical issues for electrical discipline.
• Took charge and single point responsibility to deliver fit-for-purpose electrical design on all projects and plant change activities assigned by ESM.
• Maintained technical integrity and quality of all project deliverables as per department procedures.
• Managed interfaces with other project stakeholders who includes Planning, Construction and Supply Chain Managements.
• Actively supported Health, Safety, Environment and Quality objectives of the Company.
• Acted as a technical advisor and resource to junior engineers and designers.
• Prepared specifications and datasheets for electrical items.
• Produced single line drawing for additional scope, load list for new motors and other flare equipment, cable schedule and routing, MTO and electrical design basis.
• Provided input to project definition report.
• Updated document registry and weekly reports
Conference Centre, Qassim University, Qassim
• New electrical facilities included two (2) new package substation 3MW each, one (1) standby genset 3MW, new HV feeders, HV and LV motors.
• Provided technical assistance to the Electrical Construction and Commissioning team.
• Involved with Detailed Feasibility Studies and FEED stage of the project, reviewing and setting deliverables from two (2) competing consultants.
• New electrical facilities to support the project included a new HV/LV substation.
• Participated in Project Risk Assessment and Constructability Review workshops.
• 2000 Tn chiller plant requires detailed engineering activities for additional LV feeders.
