- Duties & Responsibilities:

- Renewable Energy project development, start from site selection based on resource assessment, conceptual design, detailed engineering design, tender document, contact award, erection, commissioning, and operation.
- Economic assessment of the project using RET SCREEN based on NPV of the project.
- Resource Assessment for all types of renewable energy.
- Selection of Solar PV, Concentrated solar and Energy storage technologies based on site information, cost and other project requirements.
- Selection of Solar PV and Energy storage technologies for the Renewable Energy projects.
- Catalysing Climate Change mitigation finance for renewable energy by applying to international climate fund.
- Renewable energy (RE) Fund mobilization and coordination with regional& international organizations such as climate funds or bilateral funds.
- International cooperation regarding RE project development and capacity building.
- Follow up the implementation of international cooperation projects.
- Preparing to attend conferences and meetings held by regional and international organizations.
- Determining the training needs of sector regarding RE development and raise this needs to international agent for support such as IRENA.
- Working in a team spirit and encouraging individual and group initiatives in the administration.
- Nominating the national coordinators and submitting a recommendation.
- Preparing the annual budget of general directorate.


Achievements :

- I secured fund for Solar Cold Storage.
- I made a proposal to equip three institute to be solar technology application and research centres in Sudan, and I have experience with development agencies and multilateral financial institutions on cooperation in deployment of solar energy technologies in Sudan, now we have commitment from UN agencies such as UNIDO & World Bank to develop those three Solar Technology Applications Research Centers (STAR-C) in Sudan through ISA.
- I have two projects, in implementation phase, first one is pilot project for solar water pumping for agricultural use, the finance is secured from IBSA (India, Brazil and South Africa) through ISA and UNDP will be implementing partner, the other project is Solar Cold Storage pilot project in Sudan, and the finance is secured from ISA budget.
- I coordinated a capacity building programs in solar energy for the public and private sectors in Sudan, up to date I coordinated training of 18 engineers to be a master trainers in Solar Energy technology, and secured fund for four engineers to join master degree program in solar technology in IIT university in India 2019& 2020, moreover, I coordinated training of 19 of Sudanese banking sector officers in 2020 through virtual platform because of COVID-19 pandemic.
- I Supported ISA in Solar technology dissemination by organizing workshops in Sudan about solar energy technology.

Lead Project Engineer at • UNDP/GEF Wind Energy Project

- Through My work in “Promoting Utility Scale Power Generation From Wind Energy in Sudan” Project, I supervised and coordinated around 2 consultancy firms and 3 individuals consultants to perform about 7 studies in Outcome 2 of the project which focuses on mobilizing increased wind power investment in Sudan through enabling policy and regulatory frameworks.
- The studies are development of the Feed in Tariff program for Renewable Energy including tariff design and necessary regulations, Grid codes which is maintaining compatibility with East African Power Pool members, Moreover we established regulatory framework for renewable energy purchases including standardized Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), an inter-ministerial National High Committee for Renewable Energy (NHCRE) for providing cross-sectoral perspectives and high-level political support for renewable energy and RE Master Plan. In addition to that we developed legislation and regulations for private-sector grid-connected power generation, including a Public-Private Partnership Act, an Independent Power Producer Act, and One Stop Shop (OSS) for RE investments.
- In addition to that the project has outcome concern with support design, procurement, construction and operation of the baseline wind farm in an Eco-friendly manner. Furthermore the project made Wind Resource Mapping (Produce Sudan Wind Atlas in GIS). Also the project give more attention about the documentation and lessons learnt.
- Grid Emission Factor (GEF) update for Sudan electricity sector.

- Organized series of training workshops for the project partners in collaboration with capacity building collaborators.
- Organised and facilitated workshop about "National Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) in Energy Sectors", included NAMAs concept, Sudan NAMA framework, NAMA in Energy Sector, and NAMA Institutional Arrangement.
