In my role within the PMO leadership team as the Transportation Engineering Director, I am tasked with overseeing the transportation department to fulfil the Riyadh Art Programs objectives, aligning with the client’s development goals and the Kingdoms Vision 2030. This involves navigating the political landscape of working with a high-profile Local Authority like the Royal Commission for Riyadh City to help them achieve their best in class aspirations.

• Team Leadership and Collaboration: Inspire and lead the team to adopt effective collaborative behaviours, fostering strong relationships across the companys divisions and with clients and prestigious authorities in Riyadh.
• Technical Excellence: Contribute to the team’s technical proficiency by solving complex transportation issues on challenging projects. Provide technical guidance in areas such as transport economics, policy, strategy, rail and bus planning, business cases, and sustainable transport planning.
• Client Relations: Act as a key client contact, demonstrating leadership and maintaining high-level engagement with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and other stakeholders.
• Communication and Influence: Utilize strong communication skills to establish and nurture relationships across various departments and with external stakeholders, ensuring collaborative team behaviour and influencing project outcomes.
• Consultant Management: Engage and manage design consultants to ensure project objectives and client requirements are met effectively. Oversee the design process from development through to delivery.
• Design and Process Management: Develop and manage design deliverables, including estimation processes and handover requirements. Coordinate design reviews and handle process inquiries from contractors and consultants, ensuring thorough coordination with subject matter experts and key stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Attend meetings with the Royal Commission of Riyadh City and other stakeholders to discuss progress, project advancement, design development, program forecasts, and contractual matters. Liaise with other royal committees and local authorities to manage expectations, provide updates, understand future planning, and address resistance to change.

North-South Corridor Program - AUD $16B
Responsible for managing resources along the different stages of the project while providing professional technical expertise and project management in the planning, procurement, design, construction and hand-over phases of the able complex infrastructure project which is of a sensitive nature. My role includes managing and integrating project scope, risk, time, cost, quality, communication and procurement requirements.
Also, operating with a high degree of independence in the determination of priorities, work standards and provides professional leadership, supervision and mentoring to my assigned staff including providing technical expertise for the engineering or delivery programs. Part of my role as well managing contracts for infrastructure projects including the provision of technical advice for the preparation of contract documents for technical project specific requirements and the evaluation of tenders.

Engineering Manager | Major Roads Projects (Western Roads Upgrade) - AUD $1.5B - (PPP)
Led engineering delivery across major road upgrade programs (Western Roads Upgrade, Hoddle St, LXRP-Ferguson St, West Gate Tunnel). Managed roads, bridges, utilities, and interface coordination with contractors, authorities, and government agencies. Oversaw design QA/QC, BIM coordination, RFI/change management, and technical sign-offs. Directed consultant design teams across geometric, pavement, drainage, and traffic disciplines. Coordinated utility relocations and secured permits with councils and utility providers including Wyndham City Council, Jemena, and Powercor..

Project Design Lead | Safe System Road Infrastructure Program (SSRIP) - AUD $40M - (PMC)
Led design and installation of road safety barrier systems across high-speed corridors (80-140 km/h), managing full lifecycle from concept to handover. Briefed consultants, controlled design programs, and reviewed barrier, pavement, and traffic outputs. Coordinated contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance. Facilitated design workshops to resolve interfaces, validate constructability, and de-risk delivery.

Engineering Manager | Victoria’s Big Build New walking and cycling paths - AUD $125M - (PMC)
CManaged technical delivery for walking and cycling infrastructure across major road upgrades (Hallam North & Heatherton Road). Coordinated utility relocations, contractor interfaces, and authority approvals with Melbourne City Council and Jemena. Implemented design QA/QC, BIM coordination, and change management across geometric, pavement, drainage, and traffic disciplines. Mentored consultant teams and acted as client-side design manager to meet scope, cost, and program targets.

Design Manager | Major Roads Projects (South-Eastern & Northern Roads Upgrade) - AUD $4.1B - (PPP)
design development across a 14-project PPP road upgrade program covering roads, bridges, intersections, shared paths, safety barriers, and underground service relocations. Defined scope, standards, and procurement readiness while coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders. Managed authority approvals with Mitchell Shire Council, Yarra Valley Water, and AusNet Services. Implemented QA/QC, BIM corridor coordination, and design-change control to ensure constructability and compliance.

Managing Director | Civil & Parks, Entertainment Landscaping Works AED 15M - (EPCM)
Owned and operated a design‑and‑build Tier‑3 contractor specializing in parks, playgrounds, entertainment landscaping and associated civil works. Scaled the business from 25 to 150 site staff and established a dedicated design and administration office. Secured AED 275M in new contracts and delivered a broad scope including pavements, hardscape, softscape, earthworks, drainage, carpentry, irrigation and swimming pool construction for commercial and private clients across Dubai.

As part of the Roads & Drainage team, reported to the Senior Resident Engineer on progress and issues for the 15 km Dukhan Highway Central Contract (Package 6), connecting Shehania to Doha (main carriageways plus service lanes).
Responsibilities:
• Managed day‑to‑day design and construction activities, ensuring delivery met program, cost and quality targets.
• Led design management tasks: coordinated consultant design submissions, reviewed and approved drawings/specifications, managed design change control, and ensured constructability of highway, drainage and pavement designs.
• Coordinated multidisciplinary technical interfaces between designers, contractors and utilities to resolve complex engineering issues and minimize delays.
• Prepared and analyzed construction progress reports and payments, ensuring accurate financial reporting and alignment with contractual milestones.
• Administered contract variations and change orders, negotiating and documenting amendments to control commercial exposure.

Working with the RTA and Managing Concrete Pavement team of 5 engineers and running 2 paving crews including 2 Sub-Contractors while reporting to the department manager on progress of works. The project was 7km long containing 4-lane divided carriageway with a wide median and a 110km/h speed limit including twin bridges and 5km of plain concrete pavement. Works involved include Machine pave and Hand pours.
Responsibilities:
• Delivered a 7 km, 4‑lane divided concrete highway (110 km/h) including twin bridges and 5 km of plain concrete pavement (machine pave and hand pours).
• Managed a team of 5 engineers and two paving crews (including subcontractors), ensuring efficient resourcing and delivery against program milestones.
• Led design‑construction integration: reviewed and approved pavement and structural design outputs, coordinated technical interfaces, managed design change control and ensured constructability for paving and bridge works.
• Maintained strict QA/QC of materials and workmanship, conducting inspections and mentoring junior engineers to raise site quality and capability.
• Administered contracts, monitored and controlled monthly claims and variations, and managed cost control, KPIs and budget forecasting.

Supported design and delivery of four tram stops for Yarra Trams. Prepared and coordinated shop drawings, detailed design packages, and layout/structural/drainage/track interface deliverables. Reviewed consultant designs for compliance, managed RFIs and design change control, and coordinated with fabricators on approvals and material specifications. Resolved design clashes across track, drainage, OLE, and civil works. Administered Excavation Work Permits and liaised with authorities to secure approvals.

Project Engineer | Bass Highway Duplication - AUD $89M (Roads Construction)
Delivered Stage 5 & 6 civil works (asphalt, drainage, earthworks) for a 4-lane highway duplication. Acted as on-site design liaison — reviewed drawings, coordinated design revisions, and managed RFIs to ensure constructability. Coordinated contractors, managed material procurement, and enforced VicRoads compliance through QA/QC inspections and documentation. Produced KPI reports and mentored junior engineers on design interpretation and site practices.

Project Engineer | Geelong Railway Improvement - AUD $60M (Bridges & Railway Construction)
Contributed to construction of a 3 km dual gauge track, 31 m railway bridge, and 2 km stormwater drainage. Prepared tender documentation and work packages, coordinated shop drawings and design submissions, and managed RFIs and change control. Handled material estimation and procurement, prepared QA/QC documentation, and resolved design-to-construction interface issues to maintain program delivery.

Project Engineer | East Link Project - AUD $3.1B (Bridge & Infrastructure Construction)
Supported delivery of the Ringwood section of this 45 km VicRoads freeway. Led construction of a 150 m bridge structure including foundations, piers, decks, and post-tensioning. Supervised installation of complex underground utilities alongside civil and bridge works. Managed structural materials procurement, enforced QA/QC compliance with VicRoads standards, and resolved engineering issues across bridge works and utility relocations. Contributed to risk management, traffic staging, and stakeholder coordination.
