ITS is an information systems company working on banking solutions.
My job is ITO to KFH bank (Kuwait Finance House) Support banking systems as a Sybase DBA in the data center of the bank. This Banking system is two production environment one of them is phoenix system it is core banking and branch automation. The other one is core of corporate system. And production environment is replication server between them.

- Monitor database performance on a regular basis and report compliance to SLA's
- Support two production environments of ASE12.5.3.
- Manage & Admin Replica between both of production system(selective Replica)
- Support Multiple Development & Test of ASE12.5.3
- Resolves problems and answers questions related to Sybase and proprietary
Software Environments.
- Expertise in Installation, up-gradation & Administration of Sybase Database server (Upgrade before from 12 to 12.5.3)
- maintenance jobs (dbcc checks, update statistics, reorg \[all\] &
Reindex/rebuild).
- Design and Implement backup and recovery planning.
- Performs 24x7 supports for production systems.
- Unix Sun Solaris Shall Script Developer.
- Develop scripts for operation team in order to keep them safety and easily working.
Software used
Embarcadero, Sybase Central / SQL Advantage, Putty
Redevelopment one module of a large financial Application (BPCS) to replace green screen of OS400 environment with GUI to enhancement and controlling Inventory Transaction to meet with company requirements. And the new application keep the connection to AS400
Technologies and methodologies used :
PFC PowerBuilder, DB2, OOP technique
The responsibility is to
*Manage and Develop DB Customer Service Application as following
- 2nd line support to answering 1st line support problems from end user and fixing them
- Make all update and modification in the application issued by end user.
- Provide Analysis & Design for automation of different systems.
Technologies and methodologies used : PFC PowerBuilder, Sybase iAnyware, ASE
*DBA for Sybase Servers \[Windows NT platform\]
- Installation the Sybase server and configure the server with best
performance.
- Create Database and Database Devices.
- Define Security Schema ( Roles ) with appropriate logins and users.
- Perform backup planning to be recovered.
- Peform all checks consistencies for databases to be healthier.
*Develop Web Application For reading the value of meters and computes the subscriber's consumptions monthly.
