• Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
• Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment
• Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, and optimizing the network
• Conducts investigations of data network failures in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
• Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and limiting and monitoring access
• Support and manage firewall environments in line with the IT security policy
• Upgrade data network equipment to the latest firmware versions
• Configure routing and switching equipment, IP voice services and firewalls
• Provide remote support on site and to end users/customers during installation
• Provide remote troubleshooting and troubleshooting if problems occur on initial installation
• Liaise with Project Management Teams, 3rd Line Engineers and Service Desk Engineers on a regular basis
• Talking to clients via email and phone to capture initial requirements
• Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity
• Install, configure, test, maintain and administer a network, server and workstation
