• Collection Development: Manage and expand the library's collection, including books, journals, and digital resources depending on users and library needs.
• Providing research assistance to users and staff to offer guidance on literature searches, data retrieval, and citation management.
• Managing databases and electronic resources subscriptions and renewal.
• Prepares and conducts training and workshop sessions on all information resources books, E-Books and
data bases subscriptions for the library users.
• Helps users in Learning research skills for finding information and tracing materials as required.
• Ensure that the daily operation of the library is carried out effectively to deliver the expected service to all Library visitors.
• Installing Medad library system with Naseej Company and creating the library’s portal as part of the library’s development process.
• Preparation of reports and statistics on library services and the needs and tendencies of library leaders.
• Library acquisitions: select and purchase materials or resources, acquire material as quickly as possible, develop close friendly working relationships with other library units and vendors.
• Contacts vendors and publishers, negotiates for the costs and discounts, arranges standing orders, and selects individual titles or resources.
• Manages bibliographic data loads, maintain logs of system programs and database integrity.
• Cataloging materials in compliance with the Cataloging Unit guidelines, policies, and practices and following AACR2, MARC21, RDA and lists of reliable Arabic and English subject headings and LC classification.
• Shelf reading for all the library to be sure that the books are in the correct order on the shelves and pick out from the shelf all the books with problems to fix.
• Prepare Library budget plan and expenses.
• Carry out annual library inventories and submit the necessary reports.
• Develop and maintain circulation policy.
• Maintains daily/monthly statistics of borrowed material, and library users.
• Develop library services using ISO 30401 Knowledge Management and ISO 9001 Quality Management.
• Prepare, implement, and develop Library policies and organisational processes.
• Enrich Library resources by determining its needs and providing it with various kinds of print and non-print information resources required by the Department’s staff, to achieve the Department's objectives.
• Carry out the library day-to-day operations such as classifying, cataloging, and indexing information resources of the library and entering these into the Library System “Symphony” to be easily searchable and accessible by the Department’s staff.
• Cataloging materials in compliance with the Cataloging Unit guidelines, policies, and practices and following AACR2, MARC21, and lists of reliable Arabic and English subject headings and LC classification.
• Provide services to the Department’s staff such as ongoing briefing, selective broadcasting, borrowing, training, and photocopying.
• Subscribe and renew the Department’s subscriptions with various websites, Databases to assist the Department’s staff in performing their duties.
• Assist users in using the legal Databases such as (Practical Law - Westlaw Gulf - East Law - Mohamoon - Qistas).
• Circulate local and federal legislation to the Department's staff.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports on Library work in terms of number of visitors, usage of Library and the available information resources, and the number of visits to the subscribed website, databases.
• Equip the Library with modern technologies as per best practices.
• Any other tasks related to Library.
• Assist students and staff in securing books for their reading levels and class assignment.
• Responsible for arrangements for students to borrow library books, keeping records of books borrowed, following up on unreturned books via written letters to parents etc.
• Prepare annual library order including selection and renewal of subscriptions for periodicals. Place orders and process delivery of new books.
• Participate in the selection, training, and supervision of library support staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with students and staff.
• Develop reading lists and teach library skills for various age levels.
• Cataloging and Classifying library books using Dewy and LC classifications.
• Repair and withdraw old books.
• Responsible for the general maintenance of the library ensuring it is comfortable, well lit, attractive, organized, clearly signposted etc.

• Link between the school and the British Council regarding all issues related to the administration of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) or Edexcel International.
• Support and be able to explain to teaching staff, students, and parents the rationale and ethos that underpins all CIE/Edexcel syllabuses and assessments.
• Capable of advising parents and students to make informed and appropriate decisions regarding which syllabuses and assessments to study.
• Disseminate BC/CIE/Edexcel correspondence, including syllabuses and past papers in good time to appropriate persons such as Principals, heads of department, heads of Subject, students, and parents.
• Obtain any necessary information such as syllabuses, past papers etc from the British Council and or the UK Boards’ web sites or by completing the Publications order form and submitting via the BC.
• Responsible for ensuring that the syllabuses being followed by students for examination are current and appropriate to the students’ level of ability.
• Responsible for ensuring that all correct procedures are followed when entering students for CIE/Edexcel assessments. This will include:
• Responsible for informing students about any related information integrity of any practical examinations or course work carried out at school, submitting work for assessment in the correct manner and in accordance with any relevant deadlines.
• Inform BC/CIE/Edexcel of any Special Consideration requests.
• Distribute examination results to students.
• Submit Results Enquiry requests for remarking before deadlines and in the correct manner.
• Collate and present statistical information from IGCSE/GCE results to illustrate student performance for the benefit of staff, students, and parents.
• Responsible for informing teaching staff of CIE/Edexcel training events well in advance of their proposed dates and, where possible, of ensuring timely attendance by teachers at training workshops.
• Complete and return promptly all necessary forms and documentation with payment to the BC in respect of any CIE/Edexcel training events to be attended.
• Send and receive emails to/from BC and to/from CIE and Edexcel.
• Replacing Head of the department when absent.
