1. Conducting the administrative investigations and preparing the investigation memoranda.
2. Providing the legal opinion and producing the memorandums to the competent authority on the legal opinion and advice covering various legal areas in respect of the Council and EEAA.
3. Filing reports against the industrial and tourism facilities and personnel who violate the provisions of Law No. 4 of 1994 as amended by Law No. 9 of 2009 concerning the Environment.
4. Preparing the legal defense memoranda in lawsuits instituted against the Council and EEAA, in respect of the cases filed by individuals or employees with the EEAA whether before the civil courts or State Council courts.
5. Applying for dispute resolution and submitting the relevant memos against the industrial and tourism facilities and individuals to require them to pay the damages and penalties specified under the Environment Law No. 4 of 1994, as amended by Law No. 9 of 2009; for instance, verdicts were delivered in favor of the EEAA both in cases filed by and against the EEAA (in November 2012, two verdicts were entered to require two great industrial facilities to pay the EEAA EGP 1, 500, 00 as an environmental compensation)
6. Producing Statement of Claims in respect of the cases brought by EEAA against the industrial and tourism facilities and individuals to require them to pay the specified damages and penalties (Compensation Claims) and preparing the relevant the legal defense memoranda.
7. Coordinating with the State Litigation Authority in respect of cases filed by or against the EEAA and submitting the required documents and memos pending the entry of final judgments.
8. Attending the investigations conducted by the public prosecution in the matter of the environmental violations reported by the EEAA.
9. Attending the meetings of experts in respect of cases filed by or against the EEAA.
10. Being a legal member in some committees.
11. Participating in the negotiations and reconciliation processes according to the Code of Criminal Procedure in the matter of ship incidents, environmental violations committed by industrial and tourist establishments and individuals, and the supply of reconciliation amounts for the Environmental Protection Fund.
12. Giving lectures regarding the environmental law and environmental inspection.
13. Monitoring the cases filed in relation of the EEAA and Ministry before all courts of various degrees.
14. Collecting the value of fines imposed for the benefit of the Environmental Protection Fund and the supplying the same for the Fund.
15. Providing the legal opinion on complaints made by employees with the EEAA and Ministry, providing the assistance required to solve the problems of colleagues, and preparing the legal opinion memoranda on such grievances and complaints.
16. Responsible for the rice straw reports in Al Sharkiya Province in 2010.
17. Producing the external communications and correspondence of the EEAA and Ministry in respect of the legal matters (to the provinces, the General Assembly of Fatwa and Legislation, Public Prosecution, State Litigation Authority, Courts, Environment and Water Entities Police and all external parties).
18. Coordinating with other departments and branches within the EEAA in respect of the legal matters and affairs.
19. Enforcing the judgments delivered in favor of the EEAA and Ministry in coordination with the State Litigation Authority and the Environment and Water Entities Police.
