• Senior MCR Engineer .
• Communicate with the Facilities Section to coordinate the flow of incoming News or Programs footage.
• Operate the core technical facilities for the acquisition of live news via satellite, fibre or IP Technology.
• Undertake Quality Control and transcoding of all incoming streams or package transfers to Media Servers.
• Coordinate effectively with operators in the field to support remote operations via satellite, fibre, and IP networks.
• Reports clearly in the booking system all technical or operational issues observed during transmissions.
• Identify faults and take immediate preventative action to restore traffic.
• Undertakes routine testing, preventative and corrective maintenance of transmission systems and ancillary equipment.
• Provide operational and engineering support to other technical areas within the broadcast centre.
• Ensure Correct Satellite Access procedures are implemented on AJN Leased space capacity.
• Ensure the monitoring and adjustment of incoming video streams according to the AJE Broadcasting Technical Standards.
• Provide level1 equipment support to crews in the field.
• Report technical issues to Handovers and Ticketing System.
• Operate DTL camera position.
• Assist MCR Engineer colleagues in fault chasing if needed.
• Ensure accuracy of Handovers and Logs.
• Train new staff.
• Suggest in writing new Standard Operational Procedures or changes required.
• Correct Operational Diagrams and/or workflows if required.
Other Responsibilities:
• SNG - Field Operations
• MCR / Ingest Rooms in other Broadcast centers
• Assist Engineering Department for Project work
• Senior Specialist Media Managment .
Scheduler
1. Scheduler Ingest of Lives, as lives, packages, voice tracks etc.
2. Scheduler Ingest of Programmes from our other broadcast centers (DC, LONDON, KL)
3. Reuters WNE and APTN feeds.
4. Ingest of promos and GFXs from the creative department
Tape Ingest
1. Various tape formats to be dubbed to HDcam, DVD.
2. Programme back up HD tapes for TX.
3. Dubbing Tape compiles for our other bureaus.
4. Commercial break and programme ingests for transmission.
5. Ingest of rushes, interviews and PTC when crews return from location shoots.
6. DNR and DPR to be ingested.
7. Programmes and news bulletins to recorded to DVD.
QCing
1. QC all incoming packages, aslive etc from our correspondents on location.
2. QC to the best we can the incoming inheritance feed.
3. QCing of all the promos which are recorded to the server.
Playback To Air
1. Monitoring of News Gallery talkback and providing the facility to turn around new picture to air
Preparing and follow up the Broadcasting of the Adverts orders
Preparing and follow up the Broadcasting of the promotions orders
Follow up the Broadcasting of the Programs Order on Automation server (OMNIBUS)
Operate and Control SMS Orders on (DEKOCAST) SERVER
Supervising validity of library data
Classification and Archiving of data
Follow up the validity of data entry with DB. Admin
Specification and standardization of data elements
