As a PMO Deputy Director, my daily activities included advising the MOH projects director and nine projects’ managers on their projects' commercial and operational aspects. Our focus was on improving the delivery of a health care infrastructure program with a value of over two billion USD. My daily responsibilities included:
Deputising and acting on behalf of the PMO director as required.
Drafting procedures and designing templates to improve operations manual.
Overseeing, monitoring, and analyzing program and projects’ performance and KPI’s and prepare reports highlighting all the potential risk and issues with projects and recommend suitable solutions.
Recommend preventive/corrective actions and initiatives to improve governance.
Ensure the proper approval of baseline schedules for all the projects.
Regularly prepare presentations/reports for the senior management to highlight portfolio, program and projects’ progress and issues.
Review and provide advice to MOH on time and financial claims.
Contribute to the efforts of producing a 5 years portfolio plan for MOH.
Identify and manage programs and projects cross dependencies and priorities in line with MOH overall strategy.
Reinforce continuous improvement, collect lessons learned and ensure that all project management tools and procedures are implemented at all levels of the PMO operations.
Provide advice and training to MOH PMs in using the operation manual.
Perform periodic evaluations of contractors, consultants, and projects management staff.
Enables seamless PMO operation by controlling administrative and logistic operations.
Client facing, liaising and coordination.
Review all team output and deliverables.
Inception, planning, monitoring and controlling and closing and documenting supervision & design projects.
Follow up with customer projects progress, interfere to solve bottlenecks, follow with technical team to deliver design requirements, follow with supervision team from different sites across the kingdom to coordinate with customer office and with Italconsult Saudi branch HQ. Coordinate with HR dep. to acquire project team, conduct CVs screening, conduct technical interviews etc..
Participate in managing company projects for Saudi Industrial Properties Authority (MODON), projects which are of two types, design of roads, bridges, hydraulic structures and supervision of the construction of the same type of projects.
I was involved in a daily communication with the customer (MODON) and also in coordinating and facilitating the work of the 10 supervision teams around KSA, during this time we were supervising 10 infrastructure projects for MODON.
Spearheading crucial industrial projects of the company by coordinating laterally across diverse technical teams and vertically across management hierarchy to seamlessly implement - project roll outs, management systems and process enhancements.
Conceptualizing turnkey communication solutions as per organizational requirements, analyzing associated technical complexities/specifications and managing the execution of telecommunication projects within the scheduled deadline that entails building base stations from excavation, concrete casting, backfilling, compaction, quality control and assurance and towers erection..
Preparing project schedules and plans, issuing complete schedules of work to client/involved parties for approval, assigning all required resources to the project and monitoring actual project progress against agreed schedules/ plans to ensure completion within specified time/ budget.
Analyzing project inception plan and creating a schematic layout in view of key quantifiable parameters encompassing -estimation of takeoff cost, reviewing project constructability, scope of work, sub-contracting requirements, project profitability and scheduling.
Executing ground - up costing exercises for drafting request for quotations in responses to tenders and service requisitions - factoring profit margins, technical exigencies, overrun and quality of man-hours involved.
Overseeing the preparation of layouts, projecting technicalities and interacting with the technical office to secure requisite approvals and maintain documentation.
Supervising and executing technical processes pertaining to installation, operations and maintenance of telecommunication and security systems.
Ensuring procedural adherence. Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, identifying bottlenecks and providing effective solutions.
Maintaining a comprehensive list of all cognizable risks, acceptance test documents in line with project management guidelines.
providing training for new recruits and appraising performance on a regular basis in order to maintain a motivated team.
I was part of a PMO established to manage the strategy of 100 million dollar. Our role is to determine the strategic projects needed to be initiated in order to achieve the the next five years target stated by Dal group board of directors for each business unit. All the feasibility studies & initiation & planing was our daily work for the strategy. I was personally responsible for 4 of the 47 projects triggered by the strategy. I had accomplish three of them before moving to my next employer.
I was responsible of managing a team of 20 active personal. We were involve in establishing added value services to our customer Zain, Hauawei, ZTE.
I was responsible for the initiation, planing, executing, Monitoring & controlling & closing for all the company range of projects.
