- Work with the Mechanical subcontractor to schedule work to be performed and review work accomplished
- Plays an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed
- Be familiar with the schedule of work in assigned area, monitor the work progress and to report trends to Area Construction Manager
- Report, to the Area Construction Manager, any non-conformity or discrepancy in the work and to propose remedial work
- Review and assess the project drawings and specifications to ensure adequate instructions are provided for the work content described
- Oversees the daily construction activities at work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress reporting
- Manages the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching
- Supervise mechanical installation activities related to pressure vessels, towers and tanks, flares, boilers, incinerators, heat exchangers, rotating equipment and, as well as material handling equipment such as belt conveyor, and to ensure that work is done in accordance with Contract requirements, specific Manufacturer’s instructions and Project procedures.

- Review contract / tendering documentation, to ensure a thorough understanding of the contract requirements, participating, directing or coordinating the preliminary planning and budgeting stages as necessary.
- Assess and influence content of client / partner construction drawings and procedures, prior to issue, in order that construction execution is optimized in the most cost effective and timely manner.
- Co-ordinate / support the activities of the mobilization team to ensure that all necessary activities are reviewed with actions properly assigned, timescales agreed and relevant parties properly briefed with new communication channels established where necessary.
- establish along with relevant managers, the resourcing requirements for relevant parts of the project, including staffing, PMV, etc. to ensure that these are accurate and realistic and that any necessary steps needed to supply resource have been arranged with reference to the critical path.
- Co-ordinate / support in conjunction with relevant staff, the development and establishment of the construction schedule together with the mechanisms for monitoring subsequent progress against that schedule. Ensure that corrective action is agreed and implemented at the appropriate level where variation from plans occurs.
- Provide adequate resource and expertise on site to ensure the effective supervision, monitoring and control of the work being undertaken to ensure full compliance with all relevant standards e.g. contract documents, specifications, method statements, CCC policy and procedures.
- Maintain under regular review, the demobilization plans of the workforce and plant as the project progress in order to facilitate he relocation of the workforce and the utilization of plant.

- Carried out the erection and installation of rotating, static and vendor package equipment in process area.

- Carry out and supervise the construction of the Utilities Facilities in Out Side Battery Limit (OSBL) processes of allocated mechanical engineering Plant projects, including constructability reviews, in accordance with the AGRIUM-Canada approved Project Management Procedures, while ensuring proper authorizations to achieve project delivery within approved project scope, HSE, quality, schedule and construction budget.
- Develop Construction Risk Assessment of assigned Mechanical projects aligned with the Project Risk Assessment to identify and assess risks and uncertainties associated with implementing the specific project and implement the Construction Risk Management Plan.
- Implement the Mechanical Engineering Construction Management Plan (for Shutdown and non-Shutdown related projects), including commissioning and start up plans, spare part recommendations, training requirements, startup assistance for specialized equipment, etc.
- Apply the HSE and Quality Management Plan for assigned Mechanical engineering construction activities and ensure adherence to the Project Quality Management System to achieve quality delivery of projects, and carry out, where required, construction changes, deviations and queries in accordance with the Change Management Processes.
- Supervise the Stakeholder Management Plan and submit timely construction progress reports for assigned Mechanical projects for effective communication and seamless construction delivery.
- Ensure compliance to the terms and conditions of Contracts and Purchase Orders for assigned Mechanical Projects and arrange for materials inspections with relevant Technical Authorities and ensure that all materials used for Mechanical Engineering construction activities are of adequate standard according to specifications.
- Generate and ensure complete closure of Punch List items, timely handover of documentation of completed projects.
