• Review and coordination of all engineering design submittals, as well as
following up site supervision, design conflicts and variation orders for the client.
• Review technical submissions and design layouts as well as material submittals.
• Lead, by example, the team of multi-disciplinary Section Chiefs and engineers by
delegating work according to specialism, project priorities, technical challenges,
and contractual milestones.
• Attend progress and technical meetings, discuss, and suggest technical proposals.
• Manage the Technical Office teams on Technical and Department issues.
• Supervise the review and approvals of shop drawings, Material Submittals with
respect to the project Specification and Standards of practice.
• Documenting project issues/conditions.
• Monitoring, coaching, and developing the Section Chiefs and Engineering team
members.
• Maintaining organized and detailed project records.

 Reviews Client's technical documentation and requirements.
 Communicate effectively with the clients, colleagues and contractors involved in a project.
 Prepares the preliminary, detailed design, project description, project specifications, design criteria, equipment list, material list, purchasing item specification and quantities for new tenders / projects.
 Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects or components.
 Undertake design calculations, model making, prototyping and product testing.
 Identify new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs.
 Review, verify and validate designs.
 Model and issue shop drawings & Material take off (MTO/BOQ).
 Issue reports and instructions for quality control department to inspect special products.
 Review that designs are compatible with applicable codes.

 Maintains project technical files.
 Controls subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
 Prepares shop drawing, part list, MTO/BOQ.
 Sets up and executes assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies relevant to any engineering topic associated to Discipline, pursuing objectives of sound engineering and design optimization in term of costs, fabrication simplicity and safety.
 Prepares design specifications.
 Prepares technical documentation for steel structure material requisition and assists the procurement dept. in the technical evaluations.
