The UAE is pursuing a peaceful, civilian nuclear energy program that upholds the highest standards of safety, security, non-proliferation and operational transparency. The programme consists of a 4 Unit nuclear power station being constructed in Abu Dhabi Emirate called Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. The Korean Utility KEPCO is the prime contractor and most of the manufacturing activities are taking place in South Korea. I am currently employed by the Emirati Nuclear Energy Corporation to perform oversight in Korea for the manufacturing activities.

Duties include:
- Prime Contract Procurement and Logistics Oversight in South Korea
- Oversight of material supply at Manufacturing Facilities
- Expediting during schedule slippage and critical turnover system items.
- Ensuring that the Nuclear Quality Assurance and Quality Control Procedures are being followed as per the purchase contract.
- Co-ordinating Quality Surveillance Activities
- Periodic Progress Meetings with Manufacturers to discuss quality, schedule, current manufacturing status and document approval status.
- Field Verification activities.
- Interfacing with SAP to analyse reported data with current manufacturing activities
- Performing Packing and Shipping Inspections at manufacturer’s facilities and at the Port.

Middle Manager - Nuclear and Coal Project Sourcing at ESKOM

Project Sourcing Manager for the Nuclear New Build Programme. Involved in the procurement planning and contracting strategy of the power station. I am also involved in developing the policy framework for the Nuclear New Build in South Africa and developing nuclear procurement document with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Duties include:
*Advising on financing and procurement process, practices and strategies.
*Ensuring integration and alignment of the Project Sourcing/Eskom procurement practices and procedures, the documentation and the Nuclear Regulator’s requirements (i.e. Nuclear Procurement Quality Manual and the nuclear commercial requirements documents)
*Providing procurement related input to advance the Project development readiness exercise
*Review and comment on Project Development documentation as and when issued
*Knowledge building around international nuclear fleet rollout strategies
*Procurement input into Work Breakdown Structure
*Discussions with Client Office on Client Office readiness to meet Procurement requirements.
*Compiling government stakeholder document with the Project Management Team.

Contracts Manager - Capital Expansion Division Group Capital at Eskom Enterprises

Managing the Contract for the Electrical and Auxiliary Power Construction Package for the Kusile Power Station Project. The Package includes supply and installation of all MV/LV cabling, racking, above ground earthing, lighting and installation of all switchgear of the new Power Station near Witbank. The value of the contract is over a billion rand.
I have completed managing the Contract for design, manufacture, and delivery to site, installation, commissioning and testing of the Open Cycle Gas Turbine Power Islands at a construction site near Mossel Bay and Atlantis. The power island consists of the turbines, generator, transformer, all the switchgear and protection, piping, stacks, air intake and the buildings containing the generator and turbine and all the auxiliary systems such as fuel skids, lubrication oil skids etc. The value of the Contract was over 2.5 billion rand of which the portion I was directly managing was around R800 Million.


I am situated on site to interface with the contractor on a daily basis.

Duties
1. Evaluation and risk assessment on contract conditions and tender documentation during the tender process phase.

2. Co-ordination and co-operation with project management, and auxiliary services during the pre-contract and post-contract life cycle phases of the project.


3. Provides support to commercial in tender evaluation, negotiation and adjudication.

4. Provides contract administration.


5. Acts as a contract specialist for and on behalf of project managers.

6. Provides support and advice on contract dispute resolutions
