Developing new BI&EP Systems using COGNOS from scratch
* Identifying, reporting on and making recommendations for the improvement of business reports within the
organization
* Steering efforts in developing and implementing BI policies to ensure data accuracy and security along with
standardized BI procedures across all business applications
* Performing periodic maintenance and servicing of BI system to improve operational efficiency
* Contributing in installing, upgrading and configuring Cognos BI and EP TM1 application servers
* Providing guidance to ETL Team for designing and building the required data marts on Microsoft SQL server

reports, queries, events and dashboards accordingly, using Cognos BI tools

* Coordinating with IT Manager to negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and
service agreements regarding BI & EP
* Observing BI performance regularly to avoid unplanned outages and down times as well as BI & EP
application servers’ performance
* Leading BI staffing, including supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
* Contributing in establishing & maintaining written and in-person communications with the organization’s
department heads, and end users regarding developing business reports, training and best assistant
Followed with IT Manager to manage financial aspects of MIS Department, including purchasing, budgeting,
and budget review
* Administered activities such as developing and implementing MIS policies to ensure data accuracy and
security along with standardized MIS procedures across all business applications
* Performed periodic maintenance and servicing of MIS system to improve operational efficiency
* Shouldered the responsibilities of:
o Installing, upgrading and configuring Cognos BI and EP application servers
o Designing and building the required data marts on Oracle or SQL server
o Maintaining Cognos permissions for end users
o Collecting user requirements and developing required reports, queries, events and dashboards
accordingly, using Cognos BI tools and developing analysis Cubes using Cognos transformer
o Creating ETL procedures
o Monitoring MIS performance regularly to avoid unplanned outages and down times
o Approving reports required from the MIS department
o Managing MIS staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and
disciplinary actions
