Administer, install, and troubleshoot issues for Oracle 10g & SQL Server and DB2 on Linux, UNIX, and Windows platforms
Manage technical issues related to database, applications, and tools used in development process
Handle database performance tuning, security, capacity planning, and space management
Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies

Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, education and production usage.
Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.

Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
Implements and enforces security for all of the Databases.

Evaluates releases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products to ensure that the site is running the products that are most appropriate. Planning is also performed by the DBA, along with the application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.
Enforces and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of the database.
Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
The DBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design
Assists with application installs, upgrades, and patches.
Works with business areas to identify specific requirements and to ensure project deliverables meet customer expectations.
Establishes strategic direction for applications and corresponding technologies.

Database: Working as Database administrator in a big environment with Different release 8i, 9i, 10g and 11g acting as last line of support for all technical issues
Tools: Oracle enterprise manager grid control, Enterprise manager 9i, 10g and 11G, PLSQL developer, Oracle failsafe, Toad
Responsible for supporting Oracle database
•Responsible to ensure the highest standards of availability, integrity, security and performance.
•Collaborate with software developers to achieve high performance from their database.
•Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include upgrades and patch updates.
•Preparing DB design documents, installation guides and administration guides.
•Responsible for application administration /security profiles.
•Perform Oracle installations.
•Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
•Management and maintenance of back-ups & recovery procedures.
•Interact with and coach developers in SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
•Report incidents and provide periodic status reports.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•All DBA tasks including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
•24/7 on call.
• Install, upgrade and maintain database Client/Server software, and stay informed of database patches for bug fixes and recommended upgrades.
• Work with database management software to determine ways to organize and store data for peak performance and system resource utilization.
• Ensure the proper and effective structure, security and operation of databases, and provides troubleshooting and problem solving for issues that affect the applications.
• Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
• Proactively monitoring the DB's health and taking preventive.
• Maintain database's availability 24X7.
• Manage multiple database servers.

• Install the Oracle software on different platforms (Widows server 2003, Unix and Linux).
• Patching all Database's from 8i, 9i and 10g to 11g.
• Strong knowledge of Cloning
• Managing database unknown errors using oracle SR (Metal ink).
