Khurais Al Crude Increment Program (PC-118)(Main Contractor-SAIPEM)
*_* Saudi Aramco Approved(Status-1) QA/QC Civil Inspector.
*Raising N.C.R upon any non conformance on project site, verifying root cause & closing with corrective & preventive action
Performing following duties on project as per Saudi Aramco Standards;
Processing & finalizing RFI's after internal Inspection with client representatives.
Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control Supervisor non-conformances/Surveillance reports.
Checking the preparation /formwroks /Reinforcemnt as per IFC drawings of Foundations security fence posts, OWS, OMH, SumPits, Thrust Blocks, Pipe foundations, Rect.Ditches, Trap.Ditches, Concrete paving works, Earthworks, plant patrol road construction, anchor bolts & other embedded items installation in above written structures & also inspecting underground utilities work.
Checks the correct preparation of reinforcements of structures as per approved drawings with installation of embedded items, if given on drawings.
Monitor atmospheric conditions during pouring operations.
Monitor correct curing operations.
Checks the sampling operations (when required).
Reviews the laboratory examination results.
Monitor sub-grade, sub-base & Agg.base coarse field moisture content & dry density.
Monitor compressive strength of concrete cylinders with third party laboratory.
Monitor surface prepration & curing of concrete structures.
Orderly collect, check and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections carried out witnessing the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
Check the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation.
Check the documents certifying the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan according to Clients requirements.
*Al-Baraha is ISO 17025 certified third party construction material testing laboratory. Based on large scale experience in material testing, I am appointed on above written post & performing following duties;
***Conducting visual and measurement tests of received samples; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
***Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual inspections; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
***Making sure testing & paperwork done is according to plans & specifications
Requirements.
***Review worksheets of tests as per required test standards & specifications.
***Verify the client requirements/ specifications are met, and material specifications are followed during execution.
***Documenting all inspections and tests on performance as required by the Project Quality Plan.
***Assist the QA/QC Engr. to prepare the final dossier preparation.
***Insure quality of work & Lab.testings as per project specifications & as per required standards of testing i.e. ASTM, BS, AASHTO.

Inspection of contractor's aggregate crushers, concrete & asphalt plants.

Follow up / inspection of site activities to ensure quality of work.
Field laboratory set-up, organization, maintenance, and operation.
Supervision of staff assistants performing sampling and testing of materials.
Coordinate with the Inspector in charge of the work to confirm approval of the work for testing and discuss areas of concern.
Coordinate with the Contractor on work priorities and schedules.
Perform sampling and testing as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid undue delay to the Contractor’s operations.
Perform regular checks of material delivered to the project for conformance with the approved source or supplier.
Monitor the frequency and number of tests required for every testing operation.
Project Details
This project consist on new construction of roads for some villages in al-baha area & consists of road embankment works, construction of box & pipe culverts, bridges, slope protections of road in heavy flood areas, concrete protection work in hilly areas, & new construction of asphalt pavement layers by using super pave method for asphalt.
Duties On Project
Assist & coordinate with project material engineer for the quality testing & supervision of concrete, asphalt work on the project.
Issuance of internal NCR to sub contractors upon non conformance of any site activity.
Carry out inspection and checking for all quality related procedures in the site and ensures activity at the site are as per approved method statement and inspection plan.
Inspecting and monitoring Sub-Contractor civil procedures, performance activities and ensuring compliance with all contract documentation.
Supervising the Sub-contractor in the compilation of the handover and test packs together with all as-built documentation.
Concrete batch plant, stock piles and production units inspections.
Asphalt mix design checks, including aggregate and bitumen sampling and testing, also transportation and laying specification requirements.
Supervision of asphaltic wearing coarse, asphaltic base coarse, aggregate base coarse & concrete mix designs along with consultant representatives(Using Marshall & Super pave Mix design systems for Asphalt).
Jointly with consultant representatives, selection of material on different locations near project sites for embankments & sub-grade construction after quality testing to expedite the work progress on project by selecting suitable material borrows pits.
Report to the QA/QC manager, control and monitor all activities related to quality.
Review/Study, method Statement, Specification and other documents from client and Consultant.
Monitoring and administering QA/QC plan and ensuring incorporated materials on construction project are in compliance with the plans and specifications.
Assuring that the work is performed as required by the contract and meets or exceeds the required qualities.
Assuring the acceptable quality of materials, processes, and workmanship in project work.
Assisting quality assurance and quality control engineer such as steel reinforcement checking same as in construction drawing.
Waterproofing checking in buildings.
Monitor concrete plant & stock piles of material with routine quality testing of material used for bridge construction in medina area.
Cross checking formwork alignment, steel cover before starting concrete.
Concrete supervision for bridge construction of foundations, columns, transom beams, girders & top slab with fresh concrete sampling & site testing.
Take approval of material used for embankment & sub-grade from project consultants after quality testing.
Maintain a good understanding of the project priorities and programs; attend weekly, monthly & other progress meetings held at site as required.
Prepared jointly with consultant marshal mix design of asphaltic wearing coarse, asphaltic base coarse & concrete mix designs.
Strictly apply & follow tests manuals & project specification.
