Manager Business Administration - Products Division, Energy Sector Lahore (2006 - till to date)
In 2006, I was given the responsibility of Manager Business Administration Transformers Deptt, Lahore and in 2009, elevated to Manager Bus.Admin. Products Division.
• Handling Business volume of about Rs.4 Billion plus annually with Public & Private Sector of Distribution & Power Transformers, Switchgear panels, Circuit Breakers, Surge Arrestors, Bus Isolators and other items with NTDC, LESCO, GEPCO, FESCO & MEPCO including Private Sector Industry.
• Above includes dealing with Finance Deptts, Stores & other offices of Public & Private Sector.
• Handling & Monitoring claims against Letter of Credit & dealing with Banks.
• Risk Management ( Estimates, Provisions & Liquidated Damages)
• Commercial Execution of Sales Orders, ADB & World Bank funded Contracts.
• Complete working in SAP & SPIRIDON (upgrade version of SAP for Siemens only)
• Monitor offer / tender preparation & calculations & Pre-qualifications.
• Evolving Strategy with Technical Sales for handling of large orders & projects.
• Dealing with all Commercial Matters of Deptt.
• Preparation of Departmental Budget & Monthly reports.
• Involved in all stages of Tenders including Project financing & Contract negotiation.
• Monitoring & Analyzing Divisional/Departmental Budget, Business figures, overheads for maintaining positive operating result & preparation of comments monthly.
• Monitoring of Receivables & Handling Claim Management & Variation orders.
• Monitoring Time Management.
• Planning Personnel Development & Monitoring, placement of new Commercial Employees.
Manager Business Administration Medical Division (2001 - 2006)
• Arranging & Monitoring Import of Medical Equipments from Germany, EU & USA for Public & Private Sectors on All Pakistan basis (for all branches of Medical Division)
• Central functions including Reporting to Germany regarding Productivity of Deptts and Sales data of orders and Margins thereon.
• Dealing with all customs clearance matters, duties & taxes etc.
• Monitoring Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Closings of All branches of Medical Division.
• Complete working in SAP Germany for orders booking and monitoring deliveries.
• Preparation of Annual Budgets of Medical Division which also included Personnel, Fixed Assets budgets.
I was a team member of SPIRIDON (extended version of SAP exclusively designed for Siemens) implementation in 2004. My function was "Power User" of Material Management Module and worked extensively with SAP consultants for successful completion of implementation process of SPIRIDON in Siemens Pakistan.
Assistant Manager (1999-2001)
• Commercial Handling & execution of Private Sector Industrial Projects.
• Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Closings.
• Complete working in SAP for commercial execution of orders.
• Collections of Advances from customers & Follow up of Receivables.
• Arranging Bank Guarantees for Tenders/orders and return of expired Bank Guarantees from customers.
• Fixed Assets administration of Deptt.
• Ensure smooth audit process and answering queries.
Commercial Executive (1994-1999)
• Commercially handled Japan Power Generation Limited, 135MW Diesel Power Plant. A turnkey project valuing over Rs.900Million which included Civil works, Local / Foreign Procurement functions, Project / Site Management, Commercial Handling, Customs Clearance on incoming consignments, etc.
Commercial Officer (1991-1994)
• Commercial Handling & execution of orders from sugar, textile, paper, cement & food industries.
• Assist in Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Closings.
• Collections of Advances from customers & Follow up of Receivables.
• Arranging Bank Guarantees for Tenders/orders and return of expired Bank Guarantees from customers.
• Conducting Annual Inventories of Fixed Assets.
Trainee Commercial Officer (1990-1991)
I joined the company as a Commercial Trainee. This was a full year comprehensive training program which included rotation in all offices, Deptts & Factory of Siemens Pakistan for learning work flows, processes and techniques of working in Siemens Pakistan. After only six months of training I was escalated to on the job training and given limited responsibilities of work.
• Ten weeks Basic German Language course at Goethe Institute, Lahore. • Various in house seminars organized by Siemens Germany & Siemens Pakistan. Germany • III weeks Training in Siemens Germany which included training in SAP, Offers, tenders Preparation, Financing & other areas of job functions in 2006
