Total years of experience :9 years, 4 Months
I am part of a comprehensive medical team within the Intensive Care Unit of the Surgery Department. This includes daily rounds, morning and evening shifts, managing critical cases, as well as meticulous work on enteral and parenteral nutrition systems, regular examinations, and meeting the nutritional needs of patients.
During the time of COVID-19, the capacity of the intensive care unit was at its worse. The increase in the infection rate in the middle of the year, in the context of a shortage of material and human resources, necessitated us to work on forming a working team to formulate an integrated protocol.
In particular, the protocol includes detailed axes (oral, tube, and intravenous feeding). It was approved by the administration of Benghazi Medical Center to work.
I engage with individuals seeking preventive care, weight management, or managing chronic conditions through personalized nutrition
During the Civil War April 2014, I volunteered at Benghazi Medical Centre. The patients (surgical, oncology, and diabetes) had some difficulties, including food insecurity, inadequate access to medications and testing supplies, and a shortage of providers with expertise in clinical and nutrition care.
The only hospital working at the time (Benghazi Medical Center) called for help from anyone with a medical background. I volunteered with some teamwork alongside doctors and nurses, with a severe lack of human and financial resources, we learned as much as possible to provide medical services, medicines, needed in their different specialties, from cancer patients, war-wounded, and others.
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition, I have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the intricate interplay between nutrition, health, and human physiology. As a graduate, I am poised to contribute meaningfully to the field of nutrition, whether in clinical practice, community health, or research. The Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition has not only equipped me with a specialized skill set but has also fostered a commitment to lifelong learning and a dedication to promoting health equity through evidence-based nutritional interventions.
