RTA-Dubai) (September 2011 - To-date) Project: - Comprehensive Improvements of the Parallel Roads (R881/4-Contract 4).The project is one of the contracts associated to the Comprehensive Improvements of the Parallel Road project in order to alleviate the pressure on the transportation system within both Jebel Ali Industrial area and Jebel Ali Free Zone area. The project consist of the construction of 30 km of dual 4 lane roads, 6 bridge structures, 3major signalized junctions, Pedestrian bridges and other connected services such as road lighting, water, electricity, Irrigation, drainage. Project Cost;-AED- 1, 250, 000, 000.00 As the project QS, I am responsible for
• Checking contractor's monthly valuations and preparation of monthly payment certificates.
• Preparation of estimates for Betterment works for service Authorities.
• Analysis of new rates and negotiating the same with the contractor.
• Preparations of Cost estimates for variations.
• Preparation of monthly Cash Flow statement of project.
• Identifying potential claim events and maintaining records in consultation with the Resident Engineer.
• Preparation of variation accounts and final accounts of the projects
Reporting to the Irrigation Engineer, I was involved in Earth works and construction of concrete structures for Gravity irrigation, lift irrigation and Salt-water exclusion schemes.
• Taking of quantities and preparation of rate analysis and estimates for Irrigation projects.
• Measurement of contract work and preparation of payment vouchers.
• Preparation of bill of materials for Irrigation projects.
• Preparation of monthly progress and cost records of irrigation projects.
• Preparation of Preliminary Investigation Reports For: - Anicut schemes, Salt-Water Exclusion schemes, and Flood Protection schemes.
• Survey Investigation of Village Tanks.
• Surveying and levelling work at construction sites. Viz. Spill site surveys, Contour surveys, Channel Cross-sections.
• Setting out and supervision of earthen dams service roads, anicuts, retaining walls, irrigation channels and other concrete structures.
• Management of Departmental Assets.
