Inspection of Materials and Welding Electrodes and ensuring that the requirements are met as per applicable codes and specifications.
Ensuring that the welding equipments and machines are in proper condition and calibrated.
Checking whether the welding is done as per applicable WPS and that the qualifications of the welders are valid.
Monitoring the fit up and production welding and noting down the parameters and ensuring that the welding is done as per the WPS parameters.
To conduct procedure (WPS) and performance (WPQ) qualifications as per the codes and specifications.
Visual inspection of the welds and review NDT (RT, MPT, PT).
Verify NDT is carried out in accordance with approved project procedures and specifications.
To recommend and analyze the weld repairs as per the applicable specifications.
To make proper records of the various stages of welding and inspection and maintain the documents as per the quality management system for proper traceability.
Monitoring the site installation process and ensuring that they are done as per the engineering drawings.
Ensuring the effective implementation of QC requirements as detailed in the applicable Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
