I hold the rank of Marketing Evangelist at Wolf Marketing Agency and work with a group of really fantastic people.(www.thewolf.in).
My responsibilities include business expansion of the marketing department and managing the department to ensure high standards are constantly maintained.
I assisted various firms(prominently tech firms) in building their online marketing initiatives, with focus on content marketing.
The experience helped me to understand that I am a self-motivated and resourceful person.It also provided me pragmatic marketing knowledge.
By working together as a team, me and my students were able to improve the latter's business communication standards and expand the domain knowledge .This reflected in their attitude and grades.
This made me a better communicator and much generous person.
This started from college, and mainly involved copyediting documents like essays, business and personal documents, etc. I understood that you can bend or break rules sometimes, but it's really important to communicate effectively, rather than efficiently.
I started of by volunteering at various online forums (including yahoo answers), so that I could build up my portfolio. After gaining sufficient experience I made it as a professional at freelance sites such as freelancer, elance, and so on.
The fact that I could help knowledgeable people to express themselves better in writing is also a motivating factor.
My time at college was more about meeting and interacting great people (friends and teachers) rather than going through rigor theoretical lessons. I learned you can get "what you know" from books, but "who you know" comes from outside. I took extra courses in Accountancy during that period which helped me to understand the financial side of businesses. Actively volunteered in blood donation programs.
