Lead the implementation of EHS vision, policies, standards and programs in Middle East & Africa region.
Support the global EHS team in standard development and lead its implementation in the region.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all EHS regulations at all locations within the regions.
Liaise with local authorities in matters related to compliance with EHS regulations.
Lead major environmental compliance projects with significant saving and positive results.
Promote EHS culture across the region with focus on compliance, risk management & knowledge sharing
Develop a group of EHS professionals with leadership attributes to advance EHS culture.
Support the leadership during high risk activities such as plant shutdowns and construction.
Lead behavioural based programs through planning, training and coaching of plants leadership.
Lead and coordinate the implementation of process safety and sustainability programs in the region.
Maintain environmental permit to operate in line with Saudi Royal Commission requirements.
Deliver specialized safety training on part time basis such as NEBOSH, IOSH, and Permit To Work and an approved tutor for NEBOSH International General Certificate, and IOSH Certificates.
Ensure compliance with company HSE standards through procedure development and implementation.
Conduct regular audits on HSE management systems to ensure effectiveness to achieve desired results.
Lead a team of safety practitioners in several HSE promotional activities and studies.
Conduct regular risk assessment, safety inspection and HSE committee meetings and training courses.
Developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans in coordination with operation capability.
Responsible for accident investigation, including root causes analysis and corrective action plans.
Environmental aspects and impacts identification, setting and monitoring environmental objectives.
Monitor safety and environmental performance, analyse data and recommend corrective actions.
Actively participate in the expansion project to achieve a safe start-up of production line in record time.
Act as HSE Superintendent for Metal Production Division for a period of six months.
Lead the renewal of fire insurance policy at production division with significant saving in premium.
Conduct technical studies to verify the predicted performance following modification in production units.
Act as logistic superintendent for production department for a period of several months.
Work with third party consultants in developing and implementing HSE improvement programs.
Direct, co-ordinate and control operations of production line in order to meet the production target.
Implement the standard operating procedures, established work procedures and quality standards.
Carry out routine inspections on production units and rectify abnormal conditions as necessary.
Develop, plan and implement a major training program for the expansion project in 2005.
Participate in the development of expansion project commissioning plan and SOPs.
Monitoring of plant equipment’s and machines. Investigation of production faults and accidents.
Monitor wastewater treatment plant performance and conduct studies on new materials and chemicals.
Provide technical support to production team to resolve operation difficulties.
Work as acting Head of Process Engineers (Oct-Nov 2002)
Succeed in introducing work methods to improve process capability using statistical analysis.
Supervise the commissioning of water recycling plant through training the supervisors and operators on the basic operation principles and procedures.
Initiation of water testing program by incorporate new tests, equipment’s and techniques. Train the operators on the test procedures and how to deal with chemicals involved.
Enhance the productivity of tissue machine by introducing periodic inspections of critical equipments.
