• Receives and endorses the unit properly with the staff nurse and nursing
attendant.
• Delegates, supervises and checks the work of the staff nurse, nursing attendant.
• Plans, evaluates and gives direct nursing care.
• Identifies nursing needs of the patients, records observations, untoward signs
and symptoms, institutes remedial action and makes necessary referrals to the attending
physicians and resident-on-duty.

roles in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation
