This position reports to the Managing Director and forms part of the Executive Management team of SABN. It entails planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling of the banknote and security printing manufacturing processes in a highly securitized environment. Provide strategic planning and visionary leadership to approximately 350 employees of which 2 Senior Print Managers and 6 supervisory Section Heads report directly to it.

Main Responsibilities and duties:
• Lead negotiator for the company’s negotiation team with the Trade Unions
• Formulate job descriptions and performance management measures and evaluations
• Implement working processes and procedures relating to corporate governance and maintaining of company policies and procedures
• Assess, implement and provide on-going staff training to keep abreast of technological advancement within the banknote printing industry
• Organising and active participation in training and development
• Forecasting, Production Planning, Materials and Resource Planning and Capacity Planning including Project Management
• Costing, budgeting and controlling of departmental expenditures. Managing a budget of R200m
• Monitoring and maintaining quality assurance standards (ISO 9000) coupled with continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing processes and waste elimination
• Engage with overseas suppliers regarding substrate, inks, chemical prices and delivery deadlines
• Research and monitor industry trends regarding benchmarking of industry best practices towards continuous improvements
• Currently busy installing high tech ERP production computerized system to work in synchronization with lean Manufacturing processes
• Maintaining company SHE policies and continuous evaluation of organisational risks and SOP practices
