• Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and yearly closing of books
• Prepare cost accounting reports
• Perform financial analysis (CVP-cost volume profit analysis, ratio analysis, break even analysis, vertical and horizontal analysis, variance analysis, etc)
• Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and control procedures

• Accruals, deferrals, depreciation, and other month-end adjustments
• Daily cash management (prepare the daily cash position report), cash flow management (prepare the weekly and monthly cash flow statements)
• Inventory and fixed asset management
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of pay transactions.
• Provide bank, tax and audit requirements
• Design, define and maintain internal control systems, accounting policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of business assets
• Interpret various accounting data, analyzes reports and recommends and/or initiates actions to be taken.
• Meet accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual and monthly budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
• Monitor revenue and expenses; coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; prepare special reports.
• Supervise activities of subordinates and provides internal/external training both orally and in writing on accounting systems, procedures and practices.
• Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts and latest estimates/projections; monitor spending and calculate variances
• Prepare cash forecasts and cash funding summary and daily cash monitoring sheets
• Conduct detailed analysis of financial reports, identify various costs, expenses and revenues and calculate various financial ratios to check the financial health of the profit centres and of the business as a whole; perform variance analysis (previous vs current, actual against budget, etc)
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary as well as intercompany accounts
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Submit consolidated reports to Al Futtaim (thru SAP-BPC) and to Carillion PLC (thru Hyperion) in the UK
• Perform month end and year end closing process
• Prepare audit schedules for internal and external auditors
• Assist in accounts receivable / accounts payable functions and prepare related ageing schedules
• Fixed asset accounting
• Address accounting queries and issues (from project sites, cost or profit centres)
As a state auditor, I:
• Formulate and develop plans, programs, operating standards and administrative techniques to implement auditing rules and regulations in local government units
• Conduct comprehensive audit of accounts and transactions pertaining to revenue and receipts, expenditures and uses of funds and property in local government units
• Conduct cash examinations of accountable officers of auditees assigned to the team
• Recommend, through the Government Accounting and FMIS, accounting and auditing rules and regulations for local government units
• Conduct Value-For-Money audits and related operations review activities
• Implement the Risk-based Audit Approach in the performance of audit procedures
• Advise the auditee in various matters including the implementation of the Electronic NGAS (New Government Accounting System)
• Prepare monthly reports for submission to the regional office/central office and the Annual Audit Reports for the city/municipality/barangays
• Perform such other functions as may be assigned
