Ghana Hajj Board (Ghana Hajj Secretariat) is a division under the Pilgrim Affairs Office of Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is to oversee the annual airlifting of Ghanaian Pilgrims to Holy Land of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Board works with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj Affairs to execute its mandates. It is currently headed by Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye as Chairman appointed by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana in consultation with the National Chief Imam.

I was engaged in the following tasks; Capturing of biometric finger prints of pilgrims and entry of the medical screened records of pilgrims from the three northern regions of Ghana (Including; Upper West, Upper East, Northern and Brong Ahafo Regions) into the Database of the Pilgrim Affairs Office of Ghana, maintaining accurate information of all pilgrims, tracking departure and arrival dates of pilgrims from the Tamale International Airport (Tamale -Northern Region) to Madina and served as a Deputy Team Leader of the Tamale IT Team.

The Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) is a public management development institution established under an Act of Parliament, 647 of 2003. The Institute was commissioned in 1999 as a project of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development as part of efforts by the Government of Ghana to equip the local government system to play a pivotal role in development and poverty reduction. As a National Service person; I was basically responsible for providing administrative/clerical support to the Accountant, including typing, documents filing, and issuance of invoices and receipts (using Microsoft Excel and Tally Accounting Software).

Savannah Integrated Rural Development Agency (SIRDA) is a local non-governmental organisation based in the northern regional capital of Ghana. Its functions include; rural farmers empowerment, women and girl child empowerment and financial services to rural communities within the northern region of Ghana. They also organise workshops for rural farmers within the northern region of Ghana on topics mostly related to best farming practices. Among the task I was basically engaged with included;

Data collection and report writing on the Village Savings and Loan (VSL) Project in some selected communities in the Northern Region, especially in the West Mamprusi and Tolon Districts.

Attend and sometime support in facilitating workshops on topics like; best farming practices and Financial Management among rural farmers.

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Act 2009 (Act 791) merging the three revenue agencies that is the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Value Added Tax Service (VATS) and the Revenue Agencies Governing Board (RAGB) Secretariat into a single Authority for the administration of taxes and customs duties in the country. The Organization has its Head Office in Accra and headed by the Commissioner. The Regional Office comprising a Medium Taxpayers Office (MTO) and Small Taxpayers Office (STO). A number of them are located in the Ten (10) Regional Capitals of Ghana. Among the tasks I was engaged with are; making entries of Taxpayers Credit Receipts in the appropriate register. Issuing of Credit Receipt to Taxpayers. Filling of Documents and related administrative duties.
