UNOPS is an operational arm of the United Nations, helping a range of partners implement for $1 billion worth of aid and development projects every year. By implementing around 1, 000 projects for partners at any given time, UNOPS makes significant, tangible contributions to results on the ground. It plays a critical role in providing management services for people life-saving, peace building, humanitarian and development operations.
UNOPS delivers its services through global headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, and a decentralized network of five regional offices and more than 20 operations and project centers. These offices support around 1, 000 projects in more than 80 countries.
I act as a financial delegate for all financial smooth tasks, budgets, forecast, internal control, financial reporting & compliance for over US$ 30 billion and HR, Training Management following infrastructure & development projects and report to my supervisor finance manager & programme managers / director.
1- Construction of Harbors (09 project sites) and Sales Outlets (05 Sales Outlets) building -Coastal Rehabilitation & Resources Management Programme in Sri Lanka-IFAD
2- Construction of Health infrastructure programme (09 Hospitals) and School (29 Schools) funded by UNICEF
3- Rehabilitation of Schools (15 Schools) -Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)
4- Construction of Solid Waste Management Facilities (Ampara District, 10 DS Divisions, 02 Municipal Councils) -European Union (EU)
5- Drainage and Construction of Highway Programme -European Union (EU)
6- Construction of Permanent Housing Programme (90 Houses) -SOLIDAR
7- Construction of School Fuel Efficient Stoves (27 Schools) -UNWFP
8- Emergency Shelter & Response for IDPs (1800 Shelters)-UNHCR
9- Rehabilitation of Schools (13 Schools) and Health Facilities (02 Hospitals)-HellenicAid
10- Strom, Sewerage, Waste Water Management and Strom Water Drainage System- European Union (EU)

I supervised and controlled all financial performances & staff of Mercy Corps & associated organizations in Sri Lanka. Prepare and submit monthly finance reports, compliance reports, forecast & budget reports.
During the period I worked for following funded programs and reported to my supervisor Country Finance Manager & Regional Programme Manager.
1- Enterprises Development & Livelihood Market Development Program-Scottish Executive
2- Tourism Development and recovering programme (Construction of Hotels, Restaurants) -OPRAH
3- Community Development Programme (Construction of bridge, Road, Market) - American Red Cross (ARC).
4- Economic Development Program (Garment factories, Tea Factories, Diary Farm, Small & Medium Industrial factories)-ARC
5- Agriculture Development programme (Mushroom, Cashew, Seeds production companies)-Pepsico
6- Peace Development for conflict effected communities & Infrastructure Recover program-AUSAid
7- Humanitarian Assistant for Tsunami effected peoples -DFID

Performed accounting & audit tasks including processing routine payments, processing of invoices, allocating inter-project charges and payments and collecting data for invoicing and payroll preparation, during this period fulfilled professional experience that led to finance & audit tasks in English Nation.
*Prepare monthly purchase report for sales tax authority.
*Coordinates, collects and processes accounting entries for the project assigned and in the preparation of related invoices or the checking of invoices received ensures that all accounting entries are well documented and supported. Reviews and interprets contracts from a billing standpoint
*Ensures that invoices are promptly dispatched, establishing status of payments due on a daily basis and follows-up outstanding invoices to expedite payment.
*Undertake various tasks such as postings to general journal and general ledger, A/P, A/R, generated P&L reports and Balance Sheets
*Carried out bank reconciliation activities and managed several client accounts independently
*Internal control systems for non-utility subsidiaries that pointed out system weaknesses and reduced loss risks.
*Prepare monthly revenue & expenditure reports.
*Advice to the management to Introduced new work processes that help to improve work efficiency in the billing process and which cut down costs.
Performed maintain and coordinate the implementation of proper internal control procedures ensuring appropriate authorizations, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of information during this period, fulfilled professional experience.
* Managed accounts payable and receivable accounts and bookkeeping and recording the accounting entries and prepare bank reconciliation, accounts payable, & journal entries.
* Prepares all receipts and invoices and maintains their records to ensure matching of accounts for accurate tally of statements.
* Prepare Daily Cash Sales Report, submit to finance department along with all Cash Invoices and supporting documents.
* Processing payments, invoices, petty cash and receipts
* Handled payroll account with team members
Fellow Membership since Apr,2015 (England & Wales, Australia Government, CCAB bodies of UK, CAPA and IFAC recognized professional accountancy international body)
(Passed Professional Gateway Examination of CIMA and obtained advanced diploma in management accounting (management levels of CIMA)

Associate Membership from Aug,2006 & Fellow Membership since Apr,2011 (England & Wales, Australia Government, CCAB bodies of UK, CAPA and IFAC recognized professional accountancy international body)
Accomplished with Merit Pass,This is equivalent to bachelor degree, main subjects covered advance finance & accounting, management accounting, taxation, auditing and business law.
