Postdoctoral associate in neurosciences at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar
  • Qatar - Doha
  • February 2018 to July 2019

After my Ph.D, I joined Dr. Aleem team (Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar) as a postdoctoral associate in neuroscience where I studied the effect of different mutations identified in patients affected with muscular dystrophy using genetic analysis. I succeeded during this first postdoctoral experience to realize genomic and functional characterization of LAMA2 related muscular dystrophy in a cohort of Middle-Eastern patients. This project is published in “Neuromuscular disorders” journal. I also developed a new project focusing on the role of calcium signaling in congenital myopathy using in vitro overexpression system and the article will be submitted soon. Due to a lack of funding, my contract ended last July.

Education

Doctorate, Health and Life Sciences
  • at Université Côte d'Azur
  • January 2017

During my PhD, I worked on the role of Otx2 transcription factor in the control of granule cell precursors proliferation during normal and oncogenic cerebellum development. The principal objective of my project was to quantitatively examine how Otx2 regulate cell cycle progression and to reveal its action mechanism.

Master's degree, Biological Science and Biotechnology
  • at National Engineering School of Sfax – Tunisia
  • June 2013

I realized my engineering final project in Dr. Frederic Carriere team (Marseille, France) where I optimized the heterologous expression and purification conditions of human lipase in the yeast Pichia pastoris using different types of chromatography experiments.

Master's degree, Genomics and proteomics
  • at Faculty of Sciences of Sfax – Tunisia
  • December 2012

Analyzing the epigenetic regulation of two genes of Epstein-Barr virus.
