I attended three semesters in the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Education, University of Gezira. I studied fifteen different courses in Applied Linguistics between 1999 and 2001. After successfully completing the courses, I submitted a partial research as a requirement for obtaining the degree of masters in English Language Teaching (ELT). My thesis was entitled "Metaphor awareness and Understanding Among EFL Students in the University of Al Fashir". I defended the thesis and was granted the degree of masters in ELT in September 2003.
