• Study the full technical details and specifications of a project required for quotation
• Quantify the scope of works as per plan for comparison to a given Bill of Quantity
• Prepare cost breakdown, proposal and Bill of Quantity for tender
• Manage and organize all functions related to estimation. Plan the estimating methodology and objectives
• Plan, schedule and determine work priorities of estimators based on their experience level and current work volume
• Conduct value analysis of plans of projects, review final plans, proposal, specifications and special provisions, recommend positive alternatives and inspect proposed job sites on complex project to determine if ambiguous, impractical or cost excessive requirements exist
• Perform engineering work in preparation, development and review of final plans to compile detailed project cost estimates which are used for bid evaluation of projects
• Review and evaluate project cost estimates. Assist estimators with difficult prices of project cost elements by using surveillance of materials, labour and equipment markets
• Coordinate with General Manager/Commercial Manager to have issues, problems or irregularities resolved
• Pricing of projects that the company is competing to get, using pricing system based on good knowledge of the market and strong competitions
• Follow up prices changes of materials in the market and new system of construction and possible introduction of new materials of better quality and lower prices
• Implement alternative calculations for the customers which serves better for the company and the customers
• Coordinate with the purchasing department about the prices of materials, availability and alternatives
• Teach junior estimators in using Auto Estimate software and ensure that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency and in the most productive way
• Review and study the full technical details and project specifications required for quotation
• Survey and check quantities as per plan for comparison as per Bill of Quantity
• Prepare manual or Auto Estimate software aided calculations for cost breakdown ofvarious materials
• Interpret plans and analyse problems and produce timely, logical, cost effective solutions
• Valuing variations and advising on the financial effect on them
• Prepare contract documents, agreements and pretender reports
• Make bill of quantities and cost estimates as per specifications, drawing and as per FIDICconditions
• Quantify the scope of works as per “As Built drawings” in comparison to Bill of Quantityfrom the contract for consensus quantities for closing out projects
Passed the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination on November 1997
