Lead Electrician at Maaden Aluminium
  • Saudi Arabia
  • My current job since January 2012

Key Performance Areas:
 Hired to launch the plant in collaboration with Ma'aden developers in 2012. This partnership allowed for efective development of plant processes and operations. The goal for this partnership was to minimise teething problems to promote productivity. Ultimately, this eficient cooperation promoted optimal functionality of the plant post-launch. This launch was a massive success which holds true until the current present.  Took the initiative to create, type, visibly post and share safety procedures in various crucial sections of the plant. This reduced harm and risk to fellow employees, whilst promoting business continuity.  Widely experienced across all key working units of the Ma'aden plant including Pot Line, GTC (Gas Treatment Centre), Carbon plant cranes, PTA (Pot Tending Assembly) and the Ma'aden port.  Successfully trained at least 20 electrical technicians during my tenure at Ma'aden.  Appointed as a plant lead-electrician during the development and institution of the cathode ceiling at the Ma'aden plant.  Live panel experience up to 480V with regards to fault finding.  Independently educated and regularly updated on Ma'aden plant blueprints to improve fault finding, resolution and maintenance of all areas of the plant. This promotes business continuity and reduces financial loss for the plant.  Reduced extremely high breakdown incidence of spouts at the port by decreasing the time-to-load and increasing the lifespan of the ports, thereby promoting business continuity.  Introduced sensors on Coke spouts to reduce loading time and breakdown incidence created by dust. This has since increased productivity.  In addition, also introduced the addition of a junction box on the Coke spouts. This decreased the breakdown resolution time of these spouts from 6 hours to 30 minutes, significantly decreasing financial loss and promoting business output.  Often trusted as acting supervisor.  Retained as skilled employee throughout the 7-year Saudiasation tenure.  Experience with AC & DC drives (ACS 600&800).  Confident with SAMI drives.
