In my current role, I am responsible for design, development and support of large and scalable IT projects involving huge and complex Data Operations, driving collaboration through IT, Enterprise Search and Security on time and within budget. These projects are pertaining to Eaton Customers and other Stakeholders across over 140 countries in which Eaton Operates. It involves various tools and technologies. I am working in two of Eaton’s top five IT projects in capacity of a Project Manager for couple of modules and as a Lead/ Architect Enterprise Search and Collaboration space.
Some of the prominent projects handled within Eaton are:
Eaton’s Portal Upgrade Project: It involves integration of Eaton’s main portal with all major applications deployed at Eaton and its customer’s site. The new Portal is based on Oracle WebCenter Portal and the applications are developed on ADF framework. This is the biggest IT project at Eaton with estimated cost of IT development of 500, 000 USD for first phase of development. I have multiple roles to play in the project. I am Project manager, Technical Architect and developer for different segments of the project.
Enterprise Search Projects for Each of Eaton’s Site in various Geographies: There are about 30-40 ESP projects catering to specific requirements of users and customers for different Eaton Sites. My role is Technical Architect and developer.
Enterprise Search project for iPad and desktop application for Eaton’s Powersource marketing and Sales team: It helps our end users and marketing professionals to find documents, 3D models, videos, news and other relevant information about Eaton’s products and services. This gives them an clear and distinct Edge over other competitors in attracting more buyers, providing valuable service and engaging customers. My application was showcased at various summits and tech fests including Ignited mind Initiative at COEP, Pune.
Smart Employee Search Application: Helps to get employee details with lot of add on features and reporting capability.
Expertise Search project: A new and innovative project aimed to locate all experts in Eaton for a given criteria - This was appreciated by CEO of Eaton- Mr. Sandy Cutler.
My role was to Lead onsite and offshore team, design and develop enterprise Search and Security solutions for Google and its customers which includes highly scalable, data operation intensive and technically challenging projects involving multiple tools and technologies. Google’s customers were from various domains including IT/ITES, Telecom, Manufacturing, Retail etc. having challenges of their own. I was also in pre-sales and post-sales team of Google which gave me a chance to work more closely with Google’s customer and Sales team.
Some of the prominent projects handled within Google are:
Google Enterprise Connector Manager : It is the central part of the connector framework for the Google Search Appliance. The Connector Manager itself manages creation, instantiation, scheduling and monitoring of connectors that supply content and provide authentication and authorization services to the Google Search Appliance.
Google Enterprise connector framework suite: It enables the Google Search Appliance to search and serve documents stored in non-Web repositories, such as enterprise content management systems.
Suite of enterprise connectors such as SharePoint, File, FileNet, DB, HummingBird etc. which enables federated search over a range of structured, semi-structured and unstructured content management systems.
Google Search Box for SharePoint: It enables user to perform search on GSA (Google Search Appliance) from SharePoint from the context of currently logged in user. It supports IWA, NTLM and SAML based Authentication.
SAML Bridge for Windows: This project uses the SAML SPI supported by Google Search Appliance to support Windows Integrated Authentication.
Different Security bridges and solutions for Google: These projects and/or components enable security in Google Components and/or products.
Developed Proxy Server in .Net and Java for Google: It acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server and the proxy server evaluates the request as a way to simplify and control its complexity. Proxies were invented to add structure and encapsulation to distributed systems
Developed Tools for Google’s Sales and Marketing team and QA team.
Developed Installers in Installshield, Wix and Installanywhere: To bundle and package Google’s products.
